first of all: damian

damian is our main character. also the only one with a full name (damian peter evans). uh hes in his 20s and goes by he/him. what he does (and what the story is about) is this thing that i dont really have a name for, but its like ghost helping (as in instead of hunting & killing them he helps complete unfinished business and lets them pass on to the afterlife). he can do this job bcs hes been granted a gift by the goddess of death to be able to see ghosts

uh lets see,,, so damian is like a confident and cool guy, but he tends to be a bit quick to anger. hes not one to hold a grudge, but when he does, he holds it for a damn long time

hes also a sacrificial idiot!! partly bcs he is the most experienced of the main group, and partly bcs thats just how he is. it has got him in a lot of trouble before and it will probably just get worse as he meets more people

backstory!! uh so hes been raised in a camp of people who also help ghosts as a full time job (this community is similar to the hunters in spn btw). the one problem is that they had a lot of outdated beliefs (classic old school stuff like corporal punishment is a ok, homophobia, big fan of stereotypes etc, and also like they have ghost prejudice! its weird) and damian thinks these are dumb as fuck (and also hes midway through a sexuality crisis that is teetering strongly on the GAY GAY HOMOSEXUAL GAY side, as you do) so he just up and leaves. also he thinks its easier to live with his family hating him for abandoning them than them hating him for who he loves. um!! yea thts like the whole thing ive got. pilot starts with damian leaving (and flipping off) the camp

uohkay uh moving on. damians relationship with other characters:

liam: well it didnt really start out good. pinning someone to the door with a knife to their throat in your new residence seconds after they break in is not how you start a friendly relationship. liam does continue to visit damian bcs of his own shebang that i will explain in his post, so they end up being roommates, then friends, then lovers. yay!

charlie: this is his son (hes 15). picked him up after a mission where charlie appeared outa nowhere to help him out. he was pretty good for someone who was obviously self taught, so damian took him in. also because his previous group abandoned him for being bad at the job and damian felt bad. this does cause some issues relating to the "house only has 2 bedrooms and both adults would feel weird sharing a bed with a child and they dont wanna banish anyone to the couch" part of the living arrangement

the gods: goddess of death quite likes him! the other ones dont have an opinion on him, but thats bcs they dont directly interact with him till he barges into their humble abode and chews out the twins (life + death) for slacking on their duties
