It’s gardening season! Spring has finally come to Minnesota! Our flower garden posts were so popular last year, we are taking the time to make some really awesome pictures for you. If you use them, please just link back to us and credit us in the caption of the image.
One of the first rounds of flowers comes from Rhododendron, Tulips and other bulbs. But there is a lot more in the garden than these few first flowers. The emerging plants can be stunningly gorgeous too.
Here’s a couple of teasers of what you will find in the following slideshow

The first plant we have for you today is our Rhododendron. This is a popular landscaping bush for obvious reasons. Even after the flowers fade, the plants foliage is beautiful and fragrant.
Tulips are also early bloomers. With proper care, a tulip can last up to 15 years. Make sure to plant the bulbs in the fall and these will sprout in the spring. After the flower blooms, cut off the flower and leave the leafs until they begin to wither. This will make sure you keep feeding the bulb to have a healthy flower next year.
There are also lilies and Iris that are starting to come up. Lilies have different blooming times. Some are early bloomers, and others are just starting to grow out of the wood chips.
Even the Hasta are coming up. I love how they poke up as little spikes and then unfold their leaved.
Even the vegetable garden is starting to add some exciting color in the yard. Here you can see some rhubarb, and my new straw bale garden!
One of my favorite spring flowers is the Lilac and flowering fruit trees that are spotted throughout the yard and neighborhood.
