"he loves elphaba and so does she" MY APOLOGIES DANA FOX I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH YOUR GAME
gelphie soulmates au except it's not an alternate universe it's actually the canon movie-musical
Imagine having the biggest ship, a director dedicated to fan-servicing your narrative priorities, a biased writer that doesn’t understand the bigger political or philosophical themes of the book or even the musical that works in your favor because 💕”friendship”💕, the most songs, the most screen-time, and you STILL spend all your free time negatively analyzing and dragging the character that got the storyline you wish your favorite had and the people who enjoy them together, instead of just enjoying the couple you love.

Mini-review:
I finally got to watch this! While it's still a thoroughly entertaining movie, it doesn't quite reach the heights of the first one. The pacing and the writing feel much more unfocused, and basically none of the songs are as memorable and impactful as the ones that came before. I did notice a slight improvement in the visual aspects, though, and the sets and costumes remain enchanting. Plus the entire cast does a marvelous job, obviously. It's their energy, chemistry and pure talent that help sell the weakest parts. And somehow I've managed to avoid most spoilers up until now, so the ending surprised me! All in all, the Wicked movies have been a truly satisfying experience, and I hope to see the musical too someday.
