Responses are very helpful. :) I did head there and their FAQ did help me to put myself somewhere in a nebulous area of grayace/demi and possibly mostly aegosexual (at least I think, but you can’t ever entirely “prove” a negative so in absence of other evidence that’s what works for me for now). So thank you!

Echoing the commenter above for sure. I am ace myself and there’s nothing odd about it, though it’s difficult to make others understand sometimes…
I didn’t mean that there was anything inherently odd about it; I used “odd” in the sense of “not the norm” or “not something most people can relate to.” I mean, it never really clicked with me until sometime last year that most people apparently don’t think this way, or rather they do look at a person and think “yes, bed, please!” I mean, I’d read it in adult romance books before and thought it weird, but I just assumed, “okay, it’s for effect, to make it clear she’s attracted to him or whatever,” and I didn’t take it seriously because I assumed it was an exaggeration of fiction. (I kind of shake my head at how naive I was back then.) And yeah, my ex didn’t quite get it, thought to be fair I didn’t even really get it at the time, either, and he wasn’t ugly about it, just “this is a problem, then, because I want more.”

First Fandom: I think the first time I really engaged in fandom was for Brian Jacques’ Redwall series. I was in 6th grade and I joined a roleplaying forum. (DAB! DAB! :D I’m actually still there, sort of, though it’s not so active nowadays.)
Hobbies: Uhm... Wasting time? Daydreaming. Pretending I can dance. Serenading my flatmates (whether they like it or not, though they don’t seem to have an issue with it). Playing with centripetal force (a.k.a. swinging things around). Gaming of various sorts. Assaulting (at least implicitly willing) people with deluges of words, usually written, about me or about interesting theoretical concepts or about fictional characters (kissing or not)...
Books I’m currently reading: I’m ashamed to say I haven’t touched paper books much recently. I have several books overdue from the library that I’ve barely started, and several textbooks I also need to start reading, and dozens of tabs of fanfic open on my phone I also intend to read but that I’m not in the middle of as of writing this... Okay, I am in the middle of reading through Ratten! (Rats! in English, I just happen to have the German version), which is a manual for a tabletop roleplaying game about sentient rats in a post-apocalyptic world. I also have a collection of fantasy novellas (called Janua Vera), and I’ve been reading a page or so at a time of Le service des dames for a while now. (It’s in French for native speakers, so my concentration is gone pretty quickly; give me a break. *sticking tongue out* I loved Le confident though and I can absolutely recommend that novella to anyone who speaks French well enough to understand it, because sadly I don’t think there’s a translation.) ...Those count, right? Yes, I declare that they count.
