Can you please explain the effect of Dance powder used in Alabasta and why it is illegal? It's bad for the environment right?
Its very bad for the environment!
Essentially Dance Powder artificially creates storms. Making storms where there isn’t historically a lot of rain is Bad. It can cause flooding, throws off the natural cycle of rain, and in the long term, can cause draughts in places where there previously was rain.
It’s actually something that happens in the real world, for various reasons. You can seed clouds with dry ice and silver nitrate. It can be more or less effective - studies are inconclusive. In one piece its a lot more effective than the real world.
