I don't understand why the fandom is fighting over these three middleschool aged girls. half the time the arguments are over which of these three preteens will end up with jon snow? lame. none of them are perfect paragons and none of them are evil, they're just the products of their circumstances holding on to whats left of themselves.

Game of Thrones 8x01

this is gonna be all over the place

first can I just say that the Umber kid coming back as a White Walker/Wight whatever actually made me jump

thank god Tormund and the others are alive (I’ve always had blue eyes” HAHA)

damn, Jamie Lannister in Winterfell. it has been too long. his face when he saw Bran though, that was fucking priceless

I think Sansa and Dany will warm to each other; and even though it’s not a big ship of mine, I gotta say the lines about dragons eating whatever they want, and Sansa saying Danearys was pretty, I’m sorry, my Daensa senses are tingling

but I ship Jonerys more, and seeing them both ride dragons together, looked like so much fun. those two trying to be subtle around people, but they’re really not. and found a beautiful spot to have sex, bravo

Jon and Bran’s reunion was sweet; JON AND ARYA HAD THE SWEETEST, BEST REUNION EVER OKAY, AND I’M NOT OKAY. they missed each other so much; look at them comparing swords, and smiling, and being happy

can’t blame Arya and Sansa for sticking together about Danearys; but I want to believe that all three women will get along by the end

all of Arya and Gendry’s interactions though, oh my god. YOU LOOK GOOD, SO DO YOU, M’LADY, DON’T CALL ME THAT. I love these two so fucking much; Gendry thinks she’s pretty. and Arya was her usual sassy self. and he’s gonna make her a weapon. it’s gonna be a great season

The Hound and Arya had an interesting reunion; she’s wary, but he’s more like “well, you left me to die once, but you’re a tough bitch so I’ll let it slide”

Theon rescuing Yara was so badass. I love it.

poor Dany, trying to thank Sam, and then finding out she executed his father and brother. I feel for both of them;  it’s a tough situation

Tyrion being advised, if I’m reading this right, to marry Danearys?? I was a tad confused about that

Y'all acting surprised that Dany is being 'selfish' and 'doesn't care about anyone else but the throne'... It's like y'all haven't even been watching this show or her character.

Mind you, Danny's best moments in the entire series are when she uses her cunning, clever, and her dragons which, up until this season, has aligned with us rooting for her versus her opposition (ie her brother, slavers, corrupt, the Harpy uprising, etc.). This is the first time we've seen her opposition be characters we've spent the last 8 seasons loving and caring about and watching grow as well. She spent a majority of her growth as a character across the seas and pitted against enemies that are obviously bad and unjust. That said, they were also hurdles to her move to power and her entire existence's goal of The Iron Throne. In this past season and season 8, those hurdles are other characters that we care about, but honestly, this new hate and animosity towards her now is completely unfounded: She's the same character she's always been.

Additionally, she's just lost everything and, despite her feelings for Jon, she is ruthless and always has been. Dany is my favorite character, but she is problematic and, despite people's reactions after S8E04, always has been. That's why she is such an interesting woman and character. As of episode 4, aside from her last child, everything and everyone she has ever had or loved has been taken away from her, she's watched every person she's ever loved either die for her or betray her (yeah, even Jon now).

I guess what I'm saying is with all the anti-Dany talk, I'm surprised a lot of it stems from her 'sudden' selfishness and surprise she would put more value in the Throne than Jon or anyone else. I raise you this: Have you even been paying attention for 8 seasons?

I have mixed feelings about everything and everyone at this point! And this is where George R R Martin proves once again to be a genius... because I started this fucking episode rooting for Dany but with just a few interactions I’m doubting her... she is becoming what she despised and what she promised never to be, like her father. You cannot demand people to “obey” you, you have to earn their respect and loyalty and she’s not getting anywhere with that attitude and I don’t get why Tyrion is my helping!

Now I realize how important that scene burning the tarlys was! It was the beginning of the end for Danys ruling, at least the ruling she promised and stood by all of those seasons! I’m really disappointed in her, if only she would come to her senses and realize that there are more pressing matters at the moment like I don’t know dead fucking people who are difficult to fight and fucking dragon that spits frozen ice...!

I also didn’t get the romantic scenes, felt a bit off for game of thrones... I do adore dany and Jon (knowing it is a bit disgusting because they share the same blood but still Idk this is game of thrones) but it just felt very unlike the show and a bit beneath it and unimportant... but maybe they are trying to paint a picture where their enfatuation for each other will be the reason for their downfall (which will give Sanda the upper hand)

Relating to Sansa I am rooting for her I’ve always been! I knew she was a smart cookie but now she is just undeafetable and she really cares for the people, she’s concerned about their well being and winning the white walkers, not winning the crown. Arya realizes that and that is important

On the emotional side of this episode, although I’m angry at Jon for becoming a complete dumbass, his reunion with arya made me cry. Very well done

Arya and Gendry- I’ve been calling this romance since they’ve met, I was right I am happy and prepared for them to love each other and be cute

Tyrion and Sansa- very very very interesting interaction, just shows how powerful Sansa has become (outsmarting Tyrion) and how Tyrion is doubting himself and dany

Now... this is important. Bran- i never been keen on his character but I’ve known for a long time that he’s the most important one. But only tonight I came to the conclusion that the end of all of this is somehow related to him being pushed out of that damned window by Jamie (therefore the whole emphasis at the end of the episode with the both of them). This cannot end with the dead winning, it is predictable it does not make sense and gives no reasonable ending. This cannot end with them defeating the dead because it is too happy ending for game of thrones and we would go back to stage one where everyone is fighting each other for a metal chair. Now, my theory is this: This is all a “dream”/“prediction” from bran’s mind. He is still in a coma from that fall, if you remember the fall started all of this, it was the first domino to drop. Then they told us the most important season to re watch for us to watch this last one was season one where many episodes began with a scene we thought was real only to find out it was bran dreaming! I think this is a reasonable end and game of thrones like, but at the same time it is a bit predictable narratively speaking. But I don’t see any explosive outcome other than this one. I think the battle between the living and the dead will happen and just before bran is killed in that battle he wakes up from his bed, with no movement on his legs and the old lady that told stories by his bedside, and he realizes he has to do something to prevent all of this from happening.
