EMILIA CLARKE as DAENERYS TARGARYEN in Game of Thrones | 8.06 "The Iron Throne"
“ Ned Stark’s bastard has been named King in the North, and …(Sansa), stands by his side. “
-Cersei Lannister, Game of Thrones
I've been procrastinating watching the final eps of got because the show is such bs, but powered through 8x04 and urggghhhh.
The Starks. Gods, I hate show Starks so much. They have literally turned into the Lannisters and they can't even see it. Only wanting to trust themselves, their "family" and practically having no allies. Literally just like the Lannisters. Cersei stated only she and Jamie could be trusted and that is no different than the Stark's mentality at the end.
And then there's Sansa. She's the worst of the Starks. She is pretty much what all her stans are like - so jealous of Daenerys. She can't stand the thought of not being queen. And Starks don't do well in the South, but sure let Bran be king, living in the South. And Arya and Jon leave. Make it make sense.
Idk why Dany is seen as such a mad queen when her instincts were right on everything. She knew that the misogyny would win if everyone found out Jon was half Targaryen. And yup. Ofc, everyone would want him because he's a male. Varys admitted it in this ep.
Plus, the North and the 7 kingdoms are xenophobic. We've seen it time and time again at how Northerners looked at Grey Worm and Missandei. Even when Missandei smiled politely at young children. They just stared at her like some thing and walked away from her.
Tyrion and Varys act as if Cersei can be reasoned with. Oh, but "the people." Bitch, Cersei doesn't care about anything other than maintaining power for herself. They knew full well she was just using the people to shield herself from fire and blood. Sure, let's talk to her so she'll release Missandei. And look how it all turned out.
The asshats of Dany's advisors want to "avoid" bloodshed, but they just cause more of it. Because of them an innocent died in chains. Chains she had been freed from.
If Dany had attacked King's Landing back in season 7, everything would have been different. Literally, all that needed to be done was just fly to the Red Keep and get Cersei's ass. Drogon can fucking fly over the city. Be so fucking real. There was no fear of him burning any city down. If there had been any scorpions or whatever to take drogon down, those would be attacked first. Those weapons weren't even anywhere near the people in King's Landing anyway when Dany did attack King's Landing in the show next ep. So, again. No danger to the people at all.
But no. Have to make Dany look so insane for wanting the Iron Throne like every character on the show. Make Dany look insane for rightfully being angry at watching her long time friend die in chains and grieving said loved ones she has lost. Make Dany look insane for being upset at not receiving credit for bringing back dragons after hundreds of years and everyone appluading Jon when SHE was the first dragon rider in hundreds of years. Make Daenerys mad queen because she believes in destiny when it is confimed in show that she IS the Prince that was Promised, destined to fight the white walkers. She who without everyone would have died. Make Dany look insane for not wanting to wait and wanting to attack before her enemies had a chance to strike back. Again, Dany had all the right ideas, but nooo. Her advisors are so "smart" and "right" and self righteous.
I will never not think that Jorah should have been Hand of the Queen. He would have been so much better than Tyrion who can't think beyond his own house and family.
been watching game of thrones season 8 for the first time and OH MY GOD ARYA WOULDN'T DO THAT. BRIENNE IS SO A LESBIAN SHE WOULD NOT DO THAT. DANY WOULDN'T DO THAT. EVEN JON IS GETTING FUCKED WITH. JAIME WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM STOP RUNNING BACK TO YOUR FUCKING SISTER WIFE. OH MY GOD FUCK CERSEI LANNISTER A MILLION TIMES OVER HOW HAS NO ONE TRIED TO GET HER DEAD
A alternative, and better, ending for Game of Thrones:
Cersei still captures Missandei but kept her as a captive instead of behead her in front of Daenerys as a stupid and suicidal provocation. Meanwhile Daenerys and Tyrion argues how to gain her freedom, Cersei gives birth to her daughter and is happy for a few until Euron shows finally his true colors - his true plan was always join himself at the "Dragon Queen" - and kills her, and almost does the same with the baby when Jaime appears (thanks to the hidden tunnels of the Red Keep) and realizing what happened, slays him, saves little Joanna and freeds Missandei before depart towards Brienne who waits him outside the city.
But when Tyrion heards that his sister is dead, he coerces Daenerys to fly with Drogon above the Red Keep and intimidate the last remainings of Lannister armies, without knowing about the release of Missandei. Daenerys finally agrees and did it but then she commits her worst mistake: Blow dragonfire to a targeted objective, just to show her strength like her advisor said. Wildfire under the city unleashes and King's Landing disappears into the green flames.
Full of remorse for had killed accidentally thousands of innocent people (most of them smallfok, who D&D forgot she considers her CHILDREN too), Daenerys flies to the ruins of the Red Keep crying, only to infuriate at the discover that the Iron Throne stills. It's then when she orders Drogon melt it. After it, both leave the place and soon Westeros too.
Sansa wakes up and founds a note written by Jon, we don't see what it saids but she smiles. Meeting between Jon and Dany in the ship towards Naath, she cries at seeing him but he hugs her and whispers: "I was never made to be King of Westeros anyways"
A council reunites in The Trident and agree at the dissolution of the Seven Kingdoms along with a sealing of peace and borderlines statements to avoid fall in the same blood civil wars before the Targaryen Conquest (It will works? Who knows)
Sansa returns to Winterfell where she accepts being crowned as the Queen in the North but we can't see she is not happy, like she miss something. Then a voice from behind makes her jump and when she turns around we see Sandor in the doorframe and she runs to hug him.
Tyrion searchs for Jaime but when he finds him, he seems Brienne and his brother walking together in the beach of Tarth with Joanna. Tyrion watches the scene for a little bit before turn around and leave in silence.
Arya agrees to marry with Gendry but with the condition of do it in Winterfell. "Great, we would then wed the same day that your sister and her dog" Arya growls in disgust.
