now that im reading marvel comics again, im remembering why i stopped reading all new x-factor. i tried so hard to enjoy it for georgia and lorna, but yeesh. the way doug was crashing out, and the fact that they kept dragging pietro along in the weirdest ways. it was legitimately absurd how they had doug have sex with danger just to fuck around with doug/warlock truthers. like, it was weird! it was like if joss whedon was writing it. like they were having fun making doug constantly suffer, with warlock just dragging himself behind bc nobody on that editorial board was brave enough to just admit they did not care about doug OR warlock and just wanted to write robot porn without both the mutie and the robot having penises. honestly one of the most disappointing things peter david ever did write 😭

Danger is a female/female-presenting AI/artificial being in the Marvel universe.  It is not clear what her personal opinions on gender as a concept are, but while possessing no assigned gender or sex, she uses she/her pronouns and gave herself breasts and hips (she has full control over her physical form).  Here’s what the Marvel wiki says on her gender:

She has propositioned multiple female characters for sex (Lorna Dane/Polaris and Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch) and had sex with at least one male character (Warlock).

Danger is canonically multisexual and arguably transgender!

And yet, she isn’t listed on any lists of queer superheroes.

I don’t know if that’s some sort of AI-phobia or if it’s transphobia (on the grounds that her proposals to Wanda and Lorna don’t count as sapphic since she “only” presents as a woman and isn’t “biologically” female), but it’s not cool.

Respect our trans bi robot queen.
