I’m feeling kinda dumb because last night I injured my eye being a little careless. I was crafting some new jewelry for the shop and poked myself right in the eyeball with a piece of wire and scratched my cornea! 👁 It was terrible luck for me considering I just lost my government health insurance due to some paperwork errors and am still in the process of getting that worked out. I’m super lucky my awesome Dad lives nearby and picked me up to rush me to an eye doctor and paid for my prescription eyedrops. I’m so fortunate to have family to help me out- I know not everyone is as lucky and I’m so thankful. My eye should be just fine. The doctor says they heal super fast- I just have to avoid bright lights and use antibiotic drops for a few days so I don’t get an infection. Unfortunately that means no staring at fire while blowing glass for a few days. I have a follow up appointment on Thursday and hopefully I’ll be cleared to get back to work this weekend. Its already feeling much better compared to how painful it was yesterday. Today it feels like having an eyelash stuck in my eye constantly which is annoying but thank goodness I can see just fine. Hi. This is what I look like when I work on drawing. It's just so intense. I have to be serious every time. I employ special straps that keep my body restrained in the supine drawing position. For hours. I keep a glass of tepid water beside my drawing table to ascertain the divinities of the drawing spirit. When the surface of the water ripples without my knowledge, I see when and where drawing time will fold in on itself. I have to keep my body ripped to carry out the drawing endeavor. I wear this gray drawing shirt to protect my vital organs from the drawing implements. Often an errant pen will flip off, puncturing various flesh nearby. I need to protect myself.
