I’ve said this before but I think the world is finally ready for my take on Wilbur Soot/Dan Howell comparisons:

looks-wise, it’s there, not as striking as it could be but there; however, it’s not where they are the most similar: 

Someone said Wilbur Soot is for kids who were born in ‘06 and never watched Dan and I definitely agree with that. The appeal -- the stereotypical fan (whether that’s accurate or not) -- is exactly the same. Even though content/style-wise they’re very different, they do inhabit the same spot in culture; Wilbur has spiritually inherited Dan’s role. Will I back this up with evidence or properly elaborate in order to make a convincing argument? No, I’m lazy, but think about it and I’ll bet you agree: take a Daniel Howell fan circa the rebranding, modify it to the analogous modern person, and they’re a Wilbur Soot fan. 

In short: they, the content creators, are different in many aspects, but the spot they occupy/the demographic they entertain is one and the same.
