Case #32 - Elisa Claps
Faithful to both her studies and religion, Elisa Claps was a hardworking schoolgirl who had sincere devotion to Catholicism in the Italian nineties. A sudden disappearance following the end of mass led to concerned parties retracing the steps of that day, when Danilo Restivo’s name was brought up. Feeling pity for the boy who would relentlessly pursue girls to no avail, kindhearted Elisa agreed to a date with him, last seen entering the church with her female companion. Suspicion fell on the accompanying friend rather than the love interest, while the hopeless romantic moved to another town.
Two young children came home years later in November to find their mother, a seamstress by the name of Heather Barnett, dead on the floor. Her breasts were severed and a lock of hair placed in hand, strands not matching the genetic information of the victim but another person altogether. Restivo previously purchased curtains from the apartment days prior, but a criminal record exposed years of cutting women’s hair in public due to a bizarre fetish. The building where Claps had last been seen was finally searched, as the previous priest had denied entry to police before passing away.
It was apparent that the delinquent had befriended the former cleric and gained access to an upstairs key; the body of Elisa Claps was discovered within the roof in 2010 once reconstruction was ordered. Finally put behind bars, he was later implicated in the murder of Jong-Ok Shin, a Korean student brutally slashed in similar fashion to the pattern of Danilo Restivo. Lawyers failed to place attention on anyone other than their respective defendant, although people believe to this day that he is responsible for all three attacks.
