“What? Is it too hot?” Janet asked, poised to get him some more water, but he shook his head.
“No, it’s just-” He gestured vaguely in her direction with an unidentifiable look on his face, something between pleased and surprised and reminiscent. Janet looked down at her dress, then back up at him, confused. Daniel just smiled. “Thank you.”
Janet sat up, almost preening. “You’re welcome.” Her eyes went steely. “I expect you to finish all of that,” she said firmly. “Doctor’s orders.”
Daniel tucked back into his food with an amused gleam in his eye. “Yes, ma’am.”

Daniel was in the isolation room. Okay, my heart just cracked in two.
All the SamJan feels, all the DanJan feels, my OTPs are falling apart right in front of my and one of my favourite characters is gone and he was waiting in the isolation room. And other people knew he would be there.
In an attempt to make myself get back into writing, fic and otherwise, I found an old list of drabble prompts that I am going to use to write some Stargate SG-1 drabbles. They will all be either Sam/Jack, Daniel/Janet, or Sam/Janet, and I’m going to be writing one each day as the challenge for them. Lisa is the one who will be keeping me on track for this :)

Standing just in front of the door, hand on the knob, he paused a moment to take a deep breath and revel in the knowledge that his girlfriend, the Janet Fraiser, was inside his apartment. And in that second of calm and quiet, he heard a sound he hadn’t heard in years – the warm, rich tones of an alto saxophone. Pushing the door open with as little noise as he could, he headed straight for the comforting sound.
When he finally reached the doorway to the unused, dimly-lit room in the back of the apartment, he leaned slightly on the jamb, gazing down at the petite redhead on the other side of the room. She stood with her back to him, staring out the window into the blue-dark night as her fingers danced over the keys, oblivious to the world outside the rediscovered experience of the saxophone. When she finished and the last notes were fading off into the half-light, Daniel wound his way over to her through the piles of stuff stored there. Sliding his arms around her waist, he leaned down to kiss the top of her head, nearly getting knocked in the nose when she jumped at the sudden contact.
“I didn’t know you played sax,” he whispers as she leans back into his chest. She shakes her head.
“I didn’t know you did, either,” she whispers back. They quiet down but don’t move, now both looking out the window, just comfortable to be together and know that for one night, at least, everything is going to be okay.
