Ich wĂŒrde alles geben, um nur ein einziges Mal so geliebt zu werden, wie Roth Layla in Dark Elements liebt.
Mini review for Every Last Breath (Dark Elements #3) ⊠3.75/5 âïžâŠBeware there are spoilers.
Writing was pretty hit and miss (typical of YA) and continued to insert one too many pop culture references. E.g. When I saw there was a reference to the 2000âs era âthe End of Ze Worldâ animated clip it took me out of the world so hard that I felt like I got drop kicked. Had to take a long break after that.
That and this one fell flat for me personally as it lost its steam somewhere from the middle to the end. Felt a bit repetitive too at some points. Like, oh my god she has feathers?? Did you hear that, guys? She has feathers!! Look theyâre right there! Feathers! *giggle*.
But my biggest gripe was the conclusion. There were 2 books building up to this and the âanswerâ to all their problems felt a little too simple. And then bam it was over. Too simple. I felt like we were about to have THE showdown apocalypse style. I was disappointed.
(Spoilers below)
Also, Bambi is still gone. The fact they didnât figure out a way to get her back is mind-blowing to me?
ALSO! What was the point of meeting the familiars in their human forms? Literally no point.
BUT ANYWAYS⊠disappointed.
Mini review for Stone Cold Touch (Dark Elements #2) ⊠4/5âïž
Well. Better than number 1. Writing is still pretty cringey at times but still easy to follow along.
One thing this book does better is the angst and tension. The emotions from the scenes were addicting and powerful and I only wanted more.
And damn what an ending!
Mini review for Hot White Kiss ⊠3.5/5âïž
This started off really cringey and almost unbearable in terms of writing (unironically reminding me of Zodiac Academy) but then it got better as it went on.
Roth made the story for me. The world was definitely interesting as was the plot but Roth was the reason to keep going. I loved his flirty banter and how he acted around FMC. The FMC kept describing him with a âsweetâ scent and all I kept picturing was dark chocolate.
Ok, Bambi was pretty cool too. A demon having a familiar that is attached to them via body tattoo? Thatâs too freaking cool.
I did feel some parts were harder to get through than others and felt myself taking more breaks than I should be. I just wasnât as invested as I would have liked to be.
3.5/5 need more Roth.
âI love you.â Mm? Nice, but overused.
Meanwhile, books:
You guys, is there a specific reading order for the Dark Elements and The Harbinger series by Jennifer Armentrout? Like, I know that Dark Elements comes first and then The Harbinger, but is there a special reading order or something that I should follow (like in the Blood and Ash/Flesh and Fire series)???? Any helpful soul to lend a hand here???

The amount of times the main character in the âThe Dark Elementsâ series is called shortie is making my teeth grind.
