Managed to snag a blind-box of custom cast Kanohi from ProfDeltaLabs during a recent clearance sale, and I knew I had to throw together a quick MOC for this one. So everyone… meet Protus.

While Helryx was the first known Toa, she was certainly not the first the Great Beings built. In their laboratories on Spherus Magna, they tested and tinkered and discarded hundreds of prototypes before they finally perfected the Toa design, placing Helryx and the Toa Mata within the Great Spirit Robot. However, a senior member of the Great Beings decided to keep one of their more useful prototypes around as a guard, just in case.

Barely alive and lacking any degree of real sentience, Protus watched over the Great Being’s laboratory for centuries untold. Wielding the element of water and the protective abilities of an early Kanohi Hau, she was a useful (if often forgotten) protector for her creator. But when Mata Nui restored Spherus Magna and the power of the Ignika washed over the planet, Protus found herself, for the first time in unmarked eons… awake.
