dark knowledge pt3
It was the third week when he felt the familiar tug at his stomach. He was sitting next to a sleeping Janus and had Nemo’s head in his lap.
He of course decided it was best to ignore it for now until they woke up. but then the feeling came back again. And again.
He nudged Janus a few times but the scaled side didn’t move. There was only one other option. He just hoped that he wouldn’t get upset.
He listened to the gut pull and appeared in the living room. He was sat on the floor this time with Janus still sleeping away and the dog shifting slightly. He breathed a sigh of relief.
Looking around the room, everyone seemed to have the same confused looks on their faces, “please do not wake them,” Logan stated as he patted nemo on the head.
“may I ask who your friend is there?” Thomas asked with a small smile on his face, trying (and failing) to remain calm. “this is nemo, he is Janus’s dog,” “oh so that’s what he named him,” Remus mused. “wait you knew about him?” Logan asked. “of course, I conjured him a couple days after I left so Janus wouldn’t be alone,” everyone in the room looked at Remus stunned, “what, this cant be much of a surprise,”
It was left at that. They soon got into the conversation. Much to Logan’s surprise no one brought up the fact that his door had shifted to the other side. a small part of him broke at that, did they really not care enough about it for him to mention it?
He felt nemo beginning to stir. A small part of him was worried that he wouldn’t take well to the others, on the other hand he would have someone to mutter to.
The conversation continued. He tried to give in his input but was promptly shut down. another piece in him cracked. the name calling began and a crack appeared once again.
It was then that nemo opened his almost glowing orange eyes and lifted his head up to stare at Logan. He gave a quick lick to the cheek and nudged his hand slightly, whining in concern. it was then that he had realised he had been crying.
The others stopped talking and turned to face the logical side. They looked guilty.
It was then that Janus began to stir as well. Logan didn’t look up from where his eyes were glued to. He occasionally scrubbed his cheek with his arms to get rid of the tears that wouldn’t stop pouring.
I’m fine, I’m fine, I’m fine.
He didn’t realise that him lying to himself was what was causing Janus to inevitably wake up.
And when he did, he didn’t even look surprised, he just looked mildly upset.
He glanced at the logical side; half dazed from the sleepiness. And pulled him into a sideways hug.
Logan tucked his head into the crook of Janus’s neck as they sat on the floor. Janus by this point was beginning to become more alert and realised that he wasn’t in the dark scape. He was instead in the living room surrounded by all the sides.
The look he gave the others caused them to reel bac or a couple seconds. “what. Did. You. Do,” he growled as he held Logan closer. “we don’t know, he’s never cried like that before,” roman stated hands rising in defence.
How had they never seen him like this? In the three weeks Janus had been living with this side, it had happened almost twice every week. How the hell could they not know. “did you tell Thomas about the issue that has arrived?” Janus mused as the looks on their faces revealed the answer. “what issue, what’s going on?” “Logan’s door moved to the dark side of the mind palace, its been there for three weeks now,”
Thomas stared around the room along with Janus. Guilty looks appeared on every face, some looking more annoyed than others.
He had had enough. Holding onto Logan he gave one final murderous look before sinking down with the other in hand. He was going to give them hell for hurting Logan.
