What’s your favorite Vic Mignogna role you’ve heard him do?

It’s a fight between Edward Elric, Qrow Branwen, and Dark Mousey. 

(I love Qrow so damn much but honestly Edward is always going to win. The range of acting [he did his character’s child voice which apparently sucks for him but it was an awesome performance] and way he emotes in both the original and Brotherhood on a wide variety of situations was just absolutely outstanding)

I mean…I also kind of enjoy just finding him in roles. For instance, he plays a lot of one-off characters in Case Closed and that was always a treat when I could recognize him. 

It becomes a game now where I guess the voice actor (and am correct) and the rest of my company look at me like I’m an asshole.

D.N.Angel and Love

Since Valentine’s day is coming up, I wanted to talk about a few of the romantic relationships in D.N.Angel and bring up something that’s been bothering me for years but I’ve seen no real mention of anywhere.

(I’m reposting this cause it never showed up in the tag for whatever reason)

Anyway, onwards!

Dark x Risa

I’m going to start with the one basically no anime DNAngel fan would ever ship but slowly grew in the manga....Dark X Risa! Yeah, that’s right anime only fans... Dark and Risa are actually pretty cute in the manga! In fact, not showing Risa’s character development is one of the (many) things I can’t ever forgive the anime for. Even though she starts off in the manga like how she is in the anime (shallow), she slowly but steadily becomes someone not obsessed about Dark for his image, but the only one to fall in love with Dark for who he actually is. To her, it doesn’t matter if he is a monster or not-Dark will be Dark and she will always love him. Honestly, by the end of the manga it becomes almost difficult to still dislike her, as seeing her grow into her crush and begin to truly and sincerely care for Dark so much is heartwarming. And it’s not just on her side either-when Dark goes on a “date” with her(mostly to make her stop doing stuff to get his attention) in Dark’s mind, Daisuke finds that it’s Risa’s voice that echos in Dark’s heart. Not Daisuke’s, not Riku’s but Risa’s. Heck, the Niwa family even discuss this at one point later in the manga, and what it means for Daisuke that she choose him over Daisuke. So yeah. This relationship is pretty much cannon and despite any misgivings I had when I watched the anime and first started the manga, watching the relationship happen is a pretty heartwarming experience.

Anyway, Dark and Risa aren’t the only ones with different relationships in the anime vs the manga. For the most part, it’s similar enough (I guess) but there’s major plot point that deals with their relationship which I’d really, really like to see people discuss more(heck, it’s never even been used in a fanfic for whatever reason). And, surprisingly it’s something that happened really, really early in the manga.

Uhhh yeah. That said Dark did transform back into Daisuke after seeing her chapters before this happened but........well, though Daisuke might actually have feelings for Riku because of that (because it was implied later that at that point Dark was trying to get Daisuke to realize he liked RIku) , how sure can we be of Riku’s feelings for Daisuke? And how do we know the potion doesn’t work on the both of them? There is no way to be sure. But I can’t imagine that it’s coincidence or that Sugisaki forgot about it (well, actually I can considering it seems as though she’s forgotten about DNAngel as a series but that’s a topic best saved for another rant later)

Sooooooo if Daisuke and/or Riku are in love because of a love potion....well, it stands to reason that they might not actually be the end game. Also it might have some serious implications for poor Daisuke in upcoming chapters (if it ever updates again anyway). Although it might also be another reason why Dark hasn’t disappeared yet-Riku might not actually reciprocate his feelings, which = Dark staying. Which means Daisuke is going to have to find someone else....

Which brings me to the next pairing.

Daisuke and Satoshi

Honestly I could write a whole essay on their relationship. Well, lucky for me I don’t have to, someone already did: https://ship-manifesto.dreamwidth.org/117227.html though it only covers events up through volume 11. After volume 11, we got even more shippy moments between the two (mostly from Satoshi) including (but not limited to):

“And to me that is the one thing in the world that ever gave me joy.” Just after having a montage of thoughts about Daisuke on Satoshi’s part. Not to mention scenes of Satoshi being worried about Daisuke and how his love/caring for Daisuke is enough to bring him back from transforming into Krad multiple times, despite also being the one who transforms him in the first place. Yeah. Pretty damming on his part. At the very least Satoshi has romantic feelings for Daisuke.

And  “You and I are almost perfect opposites...but ...from time to time...I feel like you’re really close to me..” on Daisuke’s part. Not anywhere near as shippy as Satoshi’s but still pretty telling. I guess.

While we can’t be sure on Daisuke’s part (given his relationship with Riku) it is undeniable that he cares a great deal about Satoshi.

Perhaps the most damming evidence though is Sugisaki’s 1001 Knights manga. It’s filled with shounen-ai. And if she did it in one manga, why not do it in DNAngel? Especially if the ingredients are already there =)

Honestly maybe that’s why some of her manga haven’t been updated in awhile? Maybe she was waiting for Shounen-ai to become more acceptable????? With YOI being both the fastest selling anime ever and being shounen-ai, maybe she’ll write it in? A fangirl can dream right

Also seriously SatoDai fandom why has no one used the Fallen Angel’s love potion thing as a plot point to kindly get rid of the Daisuke X Riku relationship so Satoshi and Daisuke can get together? I legit can’t find one fic about it which makes me sad. I’d write something myself, but I’im like Sugisaki....I can’t finish writing multi chaptered stuff. I feel like it’s such a good excuse too.....:(

Tried to get onto livejournal for the first time in a long time as I was searching for a fic I remembered reading a long time ago. I tried to save the link, found it almost impossible. (It said I did not have permission to use tags on a community I created) So, I am putting it here instead.

I rewatched some anime that i first saw at the beginning of middle school and then decided to doodle ‘em. Its weird how they are still super hot to me I gotta admit.

Wow it's hard to take photos of shoes while you're wearing them! Anywhoo, here's the wing attachments I made to go on the boots I'll be wearing when I'm Dark at Megacon. They're faux leather that's been painted a really dark grey and black in the front and I spray painted the backs of them silver (which got on the front of them a little bit in a way I absolutely love!).

All three layers are separate so I can remove the large one for smaller two-tier wings or any other combination really. I punched holed in the faux leather and put in eyelets that matched the spacing in my laces. I'm actually really happy how these came out although I do wish they curved back along the side of my boots more, maybe I'll fiddle with them if I have time.
