Pokemon Card of the Day #1621: Dark Patch (Dark Explorers)

Dark Patch was one of those cards that showed up as if Darkness was a type that needed more help in a single set. It was an Item card that let you attach a basic Darkness Energy card from your discard pile to 1 of your Benched Darkness-type Pokemon. This was extremely useful even for this sort of Energy attachment since it wasn’t hard to pivot out to the Pokemon that just got the Energy as long as your Active Pokemon had one on it itself. Darkrai EX could do that along as a Garbodor wasn’t on the field. Getting Energy into the discard pile was easy with cards like Professor Juniper and Ultra Ball being so good. This made Dark Patch a must-run in almost every deck of the type.
