Hi! I was wondering if you have a favorite side quest in nwn2? or just any quest that stands out for you. Hope you have a good day :)

I do, in fact! Weirdly enough, I adore the Battle of the Bards quest in act 2, where in the Blacklake District you get the chance to challenge Cain Lathellon to a bard-off and there’s a ton of different ways to win depending on your set of skills and successes.

                         Personal Highlights of Battle of the Bards:

Just... the way Cain mocks you:  [Silly, high-pitched voice] “Oh yeh, look at me. I’m gonna be Cain Lathellon with a geffargin’ imaginary lute!”

Sand, heckling Cain from the audience going “SMALL YOUR DICK”

The trading of wit, I really mean it, the snark-off is fantastic on both sides.

The option to light Cain on fire and steal his lute: (!!!)

The absolute wild, rapturous, obsessive joy on Grobnar’s face witnessing it all:

Safe to say he’s in his element. You go, lil buddy, you go. Do your thing.

To be honest, I haven’t tried/succeeded at all of the available skill checks, so I don’t know all the possible outcomes, and different companions can help you win in different ways. Sand is just one of them - others can chip in, instead.

This? This, to me, is the perfect side-quest. All dialogue, all silliness, a ton of possibilities.

The poor man lost years off of his life! He grew white hairs in a matter of seconds! How could you do this to him?!

There is something so aesthetically pleasing about romancing Manerkol and having the obsidian soul stone🖤 like it just hits differently that you both have a black soul stone to match😍😍 really makes it feel like fate!

I hadn’t thought of that, but nowe that you mention it, it does sound pleasing! Or Bloodstone even, which is the deception Stone and it’s black and red... Perfect way to symbolize Manerkol, don’t you think? 😉But it is fate in all cases! Oh yes, it is....

MC *eating in a normal fashion*. Morkai, reaching over the table to cut the MCs food into bite sizes "GOD! your such a fucking child can't even eat right"

Morkai is watching you eat with hawk-like intensity, his green eyes tracking your every bite. You can see the vein at his right temple throb with his irritation as you take yet another enormous bite out of the meat you are eating.

You make sure to make a show out of how hard it is for you to bite and swallow down, dramatically exaggerating your discomfort, yet still going for another huge bite afterward.

He doesn’t last long. His hand snaps out like a snake from the sand, grabbing your plate and taking it away from you like it contains poison or something.

“Enough of this! Are you trying to choke yourself or what?! Who eats like this?!” 

“Hey, I was eating that,” you complain mildly, innocently, as you watch him jerkily use his knife to cut your meat into small, bite-sized portions. He graces you with a seething glare.

“Is that what it was? Cause to me it looked like a fox trying to swallow down a whole hen in one go. Are you doing this on purpose or are you really that ridiculous?!” he demands to know, his knife dragging across the plate with the force he’s putting behind it.

You shrug at him, and he goes back to his task, growling lowly and mumbling. He shoves the plate back at you once he’s done.

“Here—actual, okay to eat food. Chew like a normal person and don’t you dare choke, cause I’m not saving you if you do,” he threatens, giving you the stink eye.

You bat your eyelashes at him coquettishly, giving him a beatific smile.

“Thank you, you’re my most handsome, heroic savior, yes you are,” you coo at him, and his eyes widen with shock and indignation.

You start eating your food placidly, safe in the knowledge that he can’t do anything inside a crowded tavern. The way he’s looking at you is foretelling your future clearly though.

You are going to pay for this. There will be much paying to be done once the two of you are alone. The leg pressing against your thigh threateningly all but guarantees it.  And you can barely wait.

Maybe the secret ro were the friends we made along the way

MC throwing their arms around Strassa and cries "Morkai is being mean to me" Strassa then comforts MC in front of Morkai, the MCs face hidden from Strassa makes eye contact with Morkai and gives him a shit eating grin and stick their tongue out (all in good fun of course)

Morkai would in good fun charge the MC and Straasa both, wrestle them to the ground and then teach them to gang up on him.

You want to be a little shit, MC, and drag Straasa into it too, then you better be prepared to face the music, lolololololol😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈
