During the darkest days of the AIDS crisis, we buried our friends in the morning, we protested in the afternoon, and we danced all night.
The dance kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for. It didn't look like we were going to win then and we did. It doesn't feel like we're going to win now but we could. Keep fighting, keep dancing…
-Dan Savage
I've listened to Darkest Days by Stabbing Westward so many times in the past month. It's 30 years old and I remember loving Save Yourself back in the day, but for some reason I never listened to the full album. But now I'm fully obsessed.
It's like the sound is tailored exactly to my liking at every level. Scratches an itch in my brain perfectly. It's got that incredible 90s crunch and groove with a good amount of gritty atmosphere. It'd be right at home in any cyberpunk movie of the 90s.
People only value you when you're gone.
