Trevor's just so funny like, i decided on the first fight he was in i think the cyclops one?? That the Belmonts HAD to have some supernatural power, bc if any human could move like that just with training the demon army would not have been a problem, so it was extra funny when they got to the magic vault door and it turned out Trevor didnt know his family used magic at all. The space for headcanons that gives u. I wonder how much better he'd be in a fight if he was healthy and fully trained

Oh yes definitely the space for headcanons. One I have (and figures into a fic I’ve had in the works for a while) is that since Trevor’s training was cutoff when he was only 12 or 13, his skills never got the chance to fully develop; Magic was something that his parents would have started to train him in when he’d reached a certain point where he’d proven himself. Belmont training started pretty much as soon as a child could walk, but his parents held off teaching him any magic because he was an exceptionally mischievous child. And on top of that, his parents were incredibly secretive about their family’s magical skill because of how the townspeople had grown suspicious of them. In season 3 you can see his skill advancing, maybe even somewhat magical skills starting to grow, because of Sypha’s influence as she pulls him into monster hunting adventures.

Not that he will ever be wielding magic like Sypha, but that pillar of fire move he uses against the Visitor reminds me of one of his attacks in Curse of Darkness, a flaming dash. I’m looking forward to seeing what new attacks we’ll see from him in the next season.

Trevor got as far as adopting Speaker underwear before going yeah this is the perfect outfit to pair with a whip

i mean he's got the sash-looking thing too! and trevor running around whipping monsters in some undies is a great concept. king of fashion and practicality

... the only legit reason they had to make the Light Fury a species instead of using a Night Fury is that two black dragons with a similar shape would have gotten confusing on middle-to-long shots. If she absolutely needed to be white for Contrast Reasons they could have just... made an albino Night Fury??That'd have worked with the "Last of the species" thing just as well. But that reason is mentioned once in the art book iirc and the rest is "it's a GIRL dragon and she's gotta be ATTRACTIVE"

the entire movie is a mass of confusing moving parts that i had no idea where to look at bc it doesn’t draw your eye anywhere on purpose and missed a bunch of important stuff bc i was too distracted by what the hell was going on in the background so i hardly think that would have really made it worse tbh? the entire movie was confusing to look at. and like.... they could have just made one significantly bigger and then everyone would be able to tell the difference.

they could have made a joke re: size like hiccup is like “wow the female night furies are a LOT bigger” and Astrid’s like “as it should be.” she flexes a muscle. I know this gives her too much personality tho.

also the last of the species thing is silly and i don’t like it so whenever deblois goes off about it im like 🙄🙄🙄🙄 also i hate the way they’re like “we had to come up with a BRAND new species” like any two yr old can tell it’s just a white night fury no matter how much you feminise it? literally everything about the light fury is just ridiculous misogynistic nonsense. “Women are just so much harder to draw :(“ shut up pierre-Olivier Vincent I’m gonna shove u in a locker

It even makes a bit of sense that they're terrible spies?? The training to make them assassins is heavily implied to be torture, like, you cant do that to a bunch of people if you're going to leave them without supervision/supervised by someone way weaker than them AND also give them training to ferret out secrets. What if they started to spy on the wrong people?? It's also inline with the brute force approach the World Gov uses for everything else.

YEAH...there’s this fine line the wg want. they want to uncover other people’s secrets, but they also want to keep all their secrets (and they have a lot of them). so training people to figure things out is dangerous for them. especially when they want absolute loyalty and do not tolerate dissent in any form. 

and in the end, that brute force method works. cuz cp9 do get the blueprints, and nico robin, and very nearly succeed in what they wanted to do. but they do it through interrogation, threatening, and kidnapping (i.e. force), not any kind of espionage.

it really gives a sense of how the world government works, and how they hold power and control over the world, despite having terrible bureaucracy and internal affairs.

how annoyed do u think Gobber is that Hiccup has the potential to be the Best Blacksmith in the entire Archipelago and he's too busy being filled with envy that the other teens get to throw water at things to value a job that will let him be extremely important to the village AND keeps him out of the line of fire a little longer? ... he may be more annoyed at Stoick for not giving his son some recognition over this skill and saving everyone the trouble Hiccup causes trying to get it other ways

oh Really annoyed! But even with Gobber’s .... over the topness I think he’s the one that really gets that kind of emotional stuff? He’s the one that explains Stoick’s .... stoicness. It must be so frustrating to give him an important job and then see him wish he was doing something useless cause he’s made up some kind of pecking order in his head.

I think both Stoick and Gobber are frustrated that hiccup doesn’t value the jobs assigned to him, and honestly no amount of praising will change that because Hiccup is the one who decided what’s valuable in his mind. Maybe Stoick could do it more? But in the end the story tells you that Hiccup doesn’t listen and goes off about what he wants —- “but I hit a night fury” to Stoick worrying about him being roasted alive.

also like... Hiccup doesn't even have it that bad in the first movie?? Like, in his introduction alone he loses the village a good number of sheep and captured dragons, and all Stoick does is have him sent home after a couple insults from the peanut gallery. And he's been doing stuff like this for a while! So people not liking his bullshit machines that get people hurt and food lost, and Stoick being frustrated with him is perfectly reasonable to me? I get where he's coming from too but...

Oh I absolutely agree. Like hiccup causes like constant property damage and endangers lives (& who knows maybe even got people killed) trying to prove himself to his dad like...... it really wasn’t like he was outcasted for no reason and everyone was piling on him cause he was small or something ...... like people were genuinely frustrated by his actions. Were they mean sometimes? Yes. Do I think that he’s allowed to be hurt by that? Yes. But at the end of the day even though they loved a hiccup they thought was now a champion dragon fighter, they loved a hiccup more for being a dragon rider like...... all this hiccup had it so bad thing and the gang is evil for it is fanon.

I think the thing is for me like, hiccup literally never acts after the fact like he even cares about it and people continue to woobify him as this poor widdle bullied baby even when he’s the one that’s treating his friends like shit. and noah fence but some of the stuff we hear about spitelout and the twins’ family like...... they had it just as bad if not worse, but they’re given no slack for it? Their jokes are “insults” but hiccup literally telling Tuff that ruff would be better off if he was dead is what? Fine?

Sorry got off my point. What I was saying is that he’s of course allowed to be upset by the peanut gallery comments and that would have a really good plot line to address but they didn’t! And canonically hiccup doesn’t ..... care. Is it a plot hole? Sure! But it’s still not why he treats his friends like shit.

Also ppl conveniently choose to ignore Astrid was a part of the peanut gallery too.
