     there’s a subtle roll to his eyes ( though not too subtle ) as he sets down the holopad for a brief moment, looking over at the younger man with a tilt to his brow. “ yes? ” as if he’s indulging a youngling in some sort of show and tell. there are some days where it feels like he is indulging a youngling, but Anakin has long gotten past that age. so instead, Obi-Wan stares him down with slightly hooded eyes, as if he’s exasperated with the younger’s efforts in trying to garner his attention. deep down, he rather likes being wanted in some aspect as of late.

"Will you leave the Order with me?"

Obi-Wan jerked around to stare at Anakin in shock, eyes wide. Had he - Could have - No. No, there was no way he’d heard that right. Anakin did care about him, Obi-Wan knew, but enough to want to... ? It seemed impossible.

It was impossible. There had to be another reason for it. If Anakin wanted to leave, it had to be motivated by something else; it had been terribly narcissistic for Obi-Wan to think himself the primary motivation, even if only for a moment. Whatever the ‘something else’ was, though, Anakin still didn’t want to leave him behind, and Obi-Wan supposed that was rather flattering in itself. 

He took a breath and made himself relax again as quickly as he’d tensed, releasing the brief roil of emotion the question had elicited into the Force. The entire reaction had taken only seconds, but Obi-Wan still felt in a much better position to deal with the situation than he had before it.

“This is rather sudden,” he pointed out, careful. “I thought you enjoyed being a Jedi?” What’s changed your mind? he didn’t ask, but he was sure Anakin would hear it anyway.

“Since we’re getting leave today I don’t want to do anything but stay here with you.” Anakin spoke in a serious tone as he wrapped both arms around Obi-Wan, hugging him tightly and a bit possessively, even. “What do you say? If you want to we can go out at night when the corridors of the Temple are emptier and there are less eyes on us. Maybe a bar, or a restaurant. No explanations to be given, just you and I.” he kissed Obi-Wan’s neck, smiling against his skin.

          there’s hesitation. there’s always hesitation when it comes to things like this, but he can’t help how he feels sometimes. how he leans into the taller man with a hitch in his breath, how his eyes close when there’s a kiss to his neck. anakin might want attention but obi-wan craves intimacy and affection on a level like no other, and denies himself it quite frequently. so his fingers come up, carefully touching akakin’s wrist, holding it a moment as he breathes a little shakily. this is dangerous, he knows it is. it’s temptation, against the code. “ i say we just stay here. the two of us. order in some food, stay together... maybe i want to be ... selfish. ”
