What is the Finnlo-focused Multiship Anthology?
We are writers and Star Wars Sequel Trilogy fans interested in finnlo-focused ships (finnlo, finnreylo, finnroselo, finnhuxlo, darkstormpilot, finnphaslo, finnbenlo, or other groupings). We have a chat channel in the Star Wars Multishippers Discord group for participants to brainstorm, share ideas and resources, ask for advice and talk about finnlo-focused topics.
How can I interpret the theme?
You may interpret the theme as broadly as you like, and work in either Canonverse or AU, as long as you center your fic around a finnlo-focused ship and represent the characters with respect in your story. The central relationship of your story should be between Finn and Ben Solo/Kylo Ren.
Can I write about dark themes or grey themes?
Yes, as long as you tag your work (we can help you with this or offer advice on appropriate tags if you are unsure) and as long as you treat the characters and ships with respect.
What does ‘with respect’ mean in terms of writing characters and portraying their relationships?
‘With respect’ basically means we will not support the writing of racist tropes in regards to writing the character of Finn, or support shaming with regards to writing homosexuality, bisexuality/pansexuality, or polyamorous relationships.
We will not support the writing of racist, sexist, or homophobic tropes.
We will not publish untagged dark themes (e.g. non-con, graphic depictions of violence, or the death of unredeemed characters) or untagged grey themes (e.g. dub-con, evil!Finn or evil!Kylo).
Can I write more than one fic?
Yep! Write your heart out! You can even write multiple stories for the same ship if you want to.
Can I make a comic or a graphic / meme?
Yes! Visual works including comics, memes and just good ol’ fashioned art are also welcome, and soon we’ll be sending around a call-out for artists.
What does ‘developing our work’ mean / What’s the writing process?
In this anthology, developing our work is as important as celebrating the various dynamics between the characters of Finn and Ben Solo/Kylo Ren. We do ask that participants be willing to read/beta/edit each other’s fics as a way to share the load and further the existing finnlo-focused multishipping community.
Feedback will be given by June 14 on outlines submitted by the May deadline.
Feedback will be given by September 21 on first drafts submitted by the June deadline.
Your finished fic may be edited for consistency in spelling/grammar, or minor changes may be made for clarity. In these cases we will contact you.
Final publication and release is on November 30. Mods reserve the right not to publish any material that doesn’t comply with our guidelines on tagging, or ‘with respect’.
I don’t write M/M. Can I still contribute?
Yes! You don’t have to ship the characters romantically to contribute to this project. And you can publish Anon if you want to.
