Kylo Ren and Poe take great joy in introducing Rey and Finn to the wonders of Halloween. Kylo is dressed as a Jedi (he thinks this is hilarious), Poe borrowed Leia’s slave outfit, Rey is dressed like Kylo and Finn dressed up as a Mandolorian. They spend the night passing out candy (except Poe) and watching staple spooky films such as Nightmare on Tatooine, Night of the Living Ewok, and The Silence of the Bantha

Everything you said was very correct. And yeah I don’t ship Reylo but I can admit that it makes a hell of a lot more sense than Damerey and I totally get why people ship it even though it’s not really my thing (just not super into ETL in general unless it’s something like Zutara). To me Poe is gay and him and Rey are just friends. Finn is a bi icon with two hands who’s dating both of them. I’m heterosexual myself and Damerey is even too heterosexual for me.

I saw @oh-nostalgiaa do this and thought I would take the excuse, lol!

Choose your 5 favorite works you’ve created this past year (fics, art, edits, etc!) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you’ve brought into the world in 2017. Tag as many writers/artists/etc as you want (fan or original!) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works.

I wrote tons of things in 2017, and I feel surprisingly warm towards many of them, so here are just a few that I liked, not sure if they’re actually my five very favorite, but definitely five things I loved.

1. This Is the Road to Ruin (We Started at the End) Clearly I was going to list this fic. 50k of darkjedistormpilot (Finn/Poe/Rey/Kylo Ren) First Order AU, it’s the longest fic I’ve ever written and I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever written, too. It’s complicated and messy and emotional and actually has plot! (Still sad my artist flaked on me and didn’t make me art, aw.)

2. Broken Glass This was Rey/Poe/Kylo Ren I wrote as a treat in an exchange because the prompt felt like it was aimed specifically at me, lol, and I HAD to write it, and I liked how it turned out. I was experimenting a bit with the style of it and it resulted in a sort of dreamy feel that I think fits the tone.

3. Sharpens Me Like a Knife The Kylo Ren / Ben Organa-Solo backstory I always wanted to write, featuring Ben sabotaging his own life and tragically doomed Ben/Poe. It doesn’t quite fit with TLJ but I still like it anyway.

4. A Part of the Main This is smut I’m genuinely pleased with, which I don’t say often, because while I frequently have the need to write smutty scenes and feel like they add something to the relationships I’m portraying, I struggle with them. But while this fic was a nightmare to write I’m just really, really happy with the fact that it’s emotionally fulfilling and sexy. Cassian/Shara/Kes, a ship I did not know I needed until I got this exchange assignment.

Okay, for this last one I’m cheating. I considered some of the damerey or stormpilot or jedistormpilot but then I remembered these two trope-y as hell fics I wrote for exchanges and couldn’t pick between them so you get 5a and 5b.

5a. Only Fools Fall This one’s darkpilot/benpoe bodyguard AU, with Poe as Prince Ben of New Alderaan’s reluctant bodyguard. I love the sort of what might have been canon AU scenarios, such as Prince Ben and Queen Leia, so this was fun, plus, you know, Poe and Ben being equally displeased with the arrangement and slowly breaking each other’s walls down. And lots of tropes. And Poe being terrible at relationships.

5b. Fake It And this one is Poe/Luke arranged marriage. 15k of pining and misunderstandings, basically, with Poe and Luke getting married in a post-war publicity stunt, essentially, with Poe hopelessly in love with Luke and thinking Luke will never care the way Poe wants him to. It is trope-y as fuck, if that’s your thing, and also has a fair amount of focus on Poe’s friendships and relationships with his father and with Leia.

StopTFAShipWars

I started a YouTube channel to stop Star Wars ship wars awhile ago but kind of ended up forgetting about it. I’m thinking about bringing it back (I even have a sideblog named after it - @stop-tfa-ship-wars which I also need to get back to). Would any fellow vidders on here be interested?

The only rules are:

NO HATE IS ALLOWED. You can dislike a ship, it can be your NOTP, whatever but any comments hating on a ship WILL be deleted. It’s supposed to be a safe space for all shippers - regardless of what that ship is.

Respect everyone (kind of goes with the above rule). We’re all human beings who like one thing: Star Wars.

(Finn/Poe/Rey/Kylo, Explicit) Poe couldn’t really say if he enjoys his life in the First Order, but it is the only life he has ever known. He is the best pilot in the fleet, favored by Kylo Ren, and closer to a stormtrooper than is probably safe for either of them. But when Kylo brings in a Force-sensitive girl from the desert of Jakku with the intention of making her his apprentice, all of their lives will change in ways none of them could have predicted.
