please understand that Armand has never really chosen his path before. slave, kept boy, cult member, coven master, second choice.. Yes, he makes decisions in the day-to-day, within the scenarios and roles that he is placed in, but he never makes any moves to define his own life. he doesn't really know how.

that's part of why i think that devil's minion is so compelling. he is finding his own way, exploring his own wants, and doing it with someone who is excited to walk the path that Armand paves, rather than dragging him down their own!! it's romance! it's beautiful! it's sexy!!!! and also, they get fucking freaky-
