I see a lot of people mention how Darry would likely keep his parents wedding rings and give it to his special someone. BUTTTT- I think that Darry would let Sodapop use the rings when he finds the right person for him.
I also hc that whether Darry realizes it or not, he tests Sodapop's new partners to see if they are deserving of their parents rings.
Hey y’all! I got a request for some Dad!Darry Hc’s so I decided to turn it into a series!! Should I write blurbs to go along with this too??
-He wont want to have a kid until he feels like he’s financially in a good place.
-Mainly because he wants them to grow up in a good neighborhood and have everything he didn’t as a kid
-And also he isn’t ready for the responsibility yet. He’s not ready to come home after work and be a family man.
-But I can see his first one coming as a bit of a surprise
-Maybe he’s about 26ish, in his eyes still a little young, and married
-Has a steady job but isn’t living in the house or the neighborhood he wants
-so of course the first thing he starts to stress over is money
-especially since his wife will probably be fired as soon as she starts to show, so they only have a few months before it’s only his income supporting them
-funnels all of his stress into creating the baby’s room; painting the walls, putting together furniture
-all of which he complains about, but everyone knows they’re empty complaints
-as his wifes stomach gets bigger he gets more nervous
-actually they both do
-they often lay in bed talking about if they’re even ready to be parents, are they going to be good parents??
-but feeling the baby kick and going to his wife’s checkup appointments gives him a little spark of hope and excitement
-he definitely want’s it to be a boy, he’s not sure if he would know how to raise a girl
-but when he holds that little pink blanketed bundle in his arms for the first time, he knows that theres no going back, and he wouldn’t want to if he could
~Darry is VERY protective over you, nobody better look twice ~you’ll have to force Darry to have fun and not to worry ~ you’ll also have to get used to the fact that the his brothers will come before you ~once a week you’ll cook for all of them at the Curtis household ~Darry would sneak you out in the morning so soda and pony wouldn’t know you stayed the night (they always knew though)~having to listen to Darry vent about Ponyboy~ Darry doesn’t want you be like a mother to the boys, he doesn’t want you to carry the stress like he does ~ trying to talk to him in bed but him just falling asleep due to being over tired from working ~not a lot of alone time together ~ You’d tease him about his hands being all tough and dirty “You need to put lotion on your hands ” “Babe I’m a man. And I’m proud of my man hands from working hard” ~he calls you baby girl or Darling ~you’re both happy and in love
I’m leaving this under a read more for yall who want to see it. Buckle in my friends.
-Likes having control
-but he’s also competitive and likes to know that he’s doing a good job
-so he takes it slow at first, spending a lot of time on you
-seeing how you react, when you grasp onto him, when you moan and gasp
-his goal is to figure you out and then make you melt
-He might not know exactly what he’s doing, like he doesn’t have any signature moves, but he at least pays attention to your reactions
-sometimes the dude just wants a massage and a blowjob at the end of a rough day, ya know?
-Is a little straight forward with sex, not that it’s bad but he doesn’t really think outside of the box
-but DAMN does he love when you bring new ideas into the bedroom
-he’s willing to try a lot of new positions and what not, he just doesn’t look into it himself because any kind of sex is good enough for him
-doesn’t really get the appeal of anal tbh
-THIS BOY LOVES LINGERIE
-Honestly, likes the post-sex cuddle as much as the actual sex, but you just gotta give him a moment before you go into that because he gets sweaty spaghetti
-loves when you run your hands over his muscles and cling onto him, or do anything letting him show off his strength
@roblowes asked for Highschool Darry headcannons and I have so time to kill while my command hooks set so here you go kiddos :D theres a lot, I hope you like them!
-Always a well liked kid by his classmates and teachers
-kind of quiet but always got along with everyone (was a bit bossy as a little kid)
-His freshman year he was friends with the kids he played sports with but never really hung out with them outside of school
-Got pretty good grades, always was good at science and shop/woodworking
-Started to be real popular and well known his junior year
-This was when he really started to be a shinning football player and had a really good season
-With this came a lot more attention from girls, which he enjoyed but he never really cared for any of them too much
-he went on dates and what not (was a big fan of double dates tbh) but just never really had a thing for one girl
-honestly he took gym class a little too far
-like he knew the limit but sometimes he just got so caught up in the game that he forgot it even existed
-always in the gym after school and between practice
-Twobit was a freshman his junior year when he started to get real popular
-Let the new found popularity and soc acceptance get to his head a little and never said hi to Twobit in the hallway and tried to avoid him
-At this point he wasn’t hanging out with the gang as much
-partially because of the age gaps
-partially because of sports practice
-and partially because he was spending more time with the soc-y crowd
-A lot of this changed near the end of his junior year when he stood up for Twobit after he “accidentally” caused a bit of a scuffle in the hallway
-Started to accept his lower class roots a little more after that and no longer alienated Twobit, or his younger brothers as much
-Senior year he took a home economics course
-after growing up and helping his mom in the kitchen, he wanted to learn more about cooking
-was the only boy in the entire class
-which he didn’t mind too much
-learned a lot more about cooking, and more about house making
-it was a bit of a drag but he learned a lot
-this was the year he took his football team to state semi-finales
-they lost by a touch down
-Always took a girl to every dance, usually liked to stick with one for a month or two and then, after she got mad that he wont commit, move on to someone else, but he rarely went stag
-loved to dance so usually danced with his date as well as her friends
-which caused a little bit of inner clique jealousy but he was none the wiser
-he was just there for a good time
-Always did his homework on Sunday afternoons
-he was too busy hanging out and partying fridays and saturdays
-or working part time at a nearby hardware store to save up for college
-whether it was with the gang or with kids from school
-his weekends were pretty social
-winning boy of the year was a total shock to him
-wasn’t too surprised when he was nominated
-but super shocked that he got the most votes
-his senior year he was working super hard on both academics and athletics
-he needed to secure a scholarship or two for college
-fell a bit short on scholarships and didn’t quite save up enough from the hardware store
-was absolutely crushed when he accepted that he wouldn’t be going to college
-it was so hard for him to hear about his friends talking about these universities they were going too and what they were going to major in
-this was his one chance to build a better life for himself
-and then give back to his family
-and it was now gone
-graduation day was bittersweet for him
-after that he lost contact with a lot of the friends he made in high school
-some of them right away, and others started to drop off as time passed
-this brought him closer to his family and the gang though
-so he appreciates that, mainly in retrospect though
-at the time he didn’t realize how much of a blessing it was to be living in his parents house
omfg so Darry makes chocolate cake right? Chocolate cake so good that he is praised for it, right? But the book takes place in the mid-60s, in the south mind you, right? Boys weren’t really taught how to cook, and especially not how to bake because of gender roles, right? That must mean that Darry must have spent some time helping his mother bake/cook... what if it didn’t stop there though. What if he took a home economics course in high school, despite being the only boy in the room. What if he knows how to cook a whole bunch of stuff, and to cook it well... !!!!!
