I see a lot of people mention how Darry would likely keep his parents wedding rings and give it to his special someone. BUTTTT- I think that Darry would let Sodapop use the rings when he finds the right person for him.

I also hc that whether Darry realizes it or not, he tests Sodapop's new partners to see if they are deserving of their parents rings.

i dont know if you've done this before, but each member of the gang being good at a specific type of dancing, like one is good at shuffle while another is good at tap, etc. i think you get my point, im just curious for your opinion on this

darry - waltz/ballroom

darry definitely has a bit of experience with dance. mrs. curtis taught him a few things while he was young, and he fell in love with it! since he's one of the more romantic and stable members of the gang, he'd probably take his s/o on a few ballroom dancing dates :')

two bit - irish dancing (jigs, etc.)

two probably started learning how to jig as a joke, and started doing it a lot because everyone would laugh watching him dance. however, he eventually got quite good at it.

sodapop - ballet

soda has grace, man! he'd make an excellent ballet dancer and would find a way to express a bunch of emotion through his dancing. he even uses it as a method to calm down sometimes.

dallas - none

yes this man is hot, no he can't dance. tried once and tripped and fell and now insists that "dancin' is for fuckin' pussies, man".

steve - tap

steve climbs up top of cars quite often for work. once while he was up there, he kicked the top by accident, and found the sound quite fascinating. he later tried out a couple's dancing class (dally wouldn't stop bullying him) with evie and found a love for tap.

ponyboy - none :(

as much as ponyboy is artsy, the only 'art' he'll stick to are the ones that involve pens and paper. he isn't the most agile one, and finds dance a bit too exhausting.

johnny - jazz

johnny loves himself a good louis armstrong song that'll get him grooving. eventually, he enrolled himself into jazz classes to complete his jazz passion, and it's now one of his favorite pastimes.

Dad!Darry HC Series: Pregnancy

Hey y’all! I got a request for some Dad!Darry Hc’s so I decided to turn it into a series!! Should I write blurbs to go along with this too??

-He wont want to have a kid until he feels like he’s financially in a good place.

-Mainly because he wants them to grow up in a good neighborhood and have everything he didn’t as a kid

-And also he isn’t ready for the responsibility yet. He’s not ready to come home after work and be a family man.

-But I can see his first one coming as a bit of a surprise

-Maybe he’s about 26ish, in his eyes still a little young, and married

-Has a steady job but isn’t living in the house or the neighborhood he wants

-so of course the first thing he starts to stress over is money

-especially since his wife will probably be fired as soon as she starts to show, so they only have a few months before it’s only his income supporting them

-funnels all of his stress into creating the baby’s room; painting the walls, putting together furniture

-all of which he complains about, but everyone knows they’re empty complaints

-as his wifes stomach gets bigger he gets more nervous

-actually they both do

-they often lay in bed talking about if they’re even ready to be parents, are they going to be good parents??

-but feeling the baby kick and going to his wife’s checkup appointments gives him a little spark of hope and excitement

-he definitely want’s it to be a boy, he’s not sure if he would know how to raise a girl

-but when he holds that little pink blanketed bundle in his arms for the first time, he knows that theres no going back, and he wouldn’t want to if he could

Darry HC’s [2?/?]

I love my fictional husband, and I know y’all love him too but sometimes I feel like people either make him a grandpa or a closet drinking soccer mom and I don’t really feel those stereotypes so here’s my version of Darry.

-Rarely reads the paper and hardly knows whats going on in the world

-it’s cause he’s too busy either working, sleeping, working out at the gym, squeezing in time with friends, or trying to keep Pony in check

-He feels so lost and directionless so he simplified his routine to this

-HATES a dirty kitchen, nothing makes him madder than coming home and seeing that

-Honestly isn’t a good listener at all. He tries but half of the time he doesn’t care about other peoples drama and shit. He’s had to hold himself and his family up with no help so he doesn’t have a lot of sympathy

-Unless it’s super important shit, like custody terms and when bills are due, then he listens and remembers that stuff to a t

-Doesn’t really care for movies but LOVES tv. Comedy shows are his favorite. The family themed ones are hard for him to watch though

-Honestly hasn’t had much time to date or think about girls since his parents died. Like yeah, he wants to get laid, but all of the other steps are too much for him to deal with rn

-Tries really hard to save money but most everything that comes in goes back into bills/gas/food

-Tries to give Pony a little spending money, but it usually comes from Soda

-Likes baking more than cooking, he has a total sweet tooth

-DONT TALK TO HIM UNTIL HE HAS HAD HIS COFFEE

-This boy is a heavy sleeper and it takes a lot to get him up in the morning

-Looks at how messy his home is but gets stressed about it and takes a nap instead of cleaning

-Used to roof during summer vacations in high school

-his second job is working nights and weekends at a hardware store

-Isn’t quite sure what he wants to do for a living

-originally wanted to go to school for architecture but is rethinking that

-His favorite color is light blue

-Darry is super awkward around kids where as Soda is the opposite

-Its so easy to get this boy heated and losing his temper

-like he’ll get pissy about something and everyone will be like… chill man, its cool….

YES. I LOVE MY FICTIONAL HUSBAND.

-It went over well though and he acted like a gentleman the whole time. Once him and your dad got on the topic of football it was smooth sailing from there

-Get’s mad when you open doors before he can for you

-Will definitely be one to give the silent treatment when he’s mad

-Sometimes offers to cook you dinner

-was very hesitant having you meet the guys, just because he wasn’t sure how bad they would embarrass him

-often when he’s with you though, most of his other life problems, like bills and his job and what the hell he’s doing with his life, disappear for a while

Well, it would certainly depend on what type of mad he was.

He’s definitely one to get snippy when he’s stressed or tired or over worked, and typically he’s all three.

-he’ll probably say something with a sharp tongue or may even raise his voice a little too much. 

-His version of common sense and everyone else’s is usually two different things so he gets frustrated a lot 

-Isn’t the most understanding either which just adds fuel to the fire

-put typically calms down rather quickly and apologizes

-He isn’t always quick with an apology, but there will be one

Now, if he’s mad mad, then you’re in for the quiet treatment

-He’ll just go off and do something to keep busy, like clean up the yard or sit and read the paper

-but the entire time he’s fuming

-and this usually ends in one of two ways

-either he cools down and lets it go

-or it ends with arguing

-you might get mad and walk out on him, needing your space. And he’ll give it to you, but not for more than a few hours before he needs you back

-is definitely a fan of makeup sex ;)

If he’s dealing with someone in public he tends to keep an even head about the whole thing

-he usually only gets hot headed with the people he cares about because he only wants what’s best for them

-or at least what he thinks is best

-letting go is something that he needs to learn though, and as the years go on he starts to get the hint
