There was a surge in the force. The power of the Dark Side experienced a blast of power that rippled through the galaxy. It passed over the sands of Tattooine and the Forests of Endor. Through the cities of Corellia and the skyline of Courescant. The swamps of Naboo and the waves of Mon Calamari. The Force.....had been disrupted. And in this disruption....something awoke. Deep within the caverns of the long dead planet of Korriban the force began to rage like a hurricane as power filled the halls of the ancient temples and burial grounds of the ancient Sith. The surge eventually passed over a small grave within the vast expanse of the valley of the Dark Lords. It was small. Insignificant compared to the monolithic graves and edifices of the ancient Sith Lords that towered over it, like ancient titans standing watch against the heavens themselves. It was in truth, little more than a small dirt mound with a blank tomb stone over it. One would think this was the grave of a pauper for how small it was. But within this oppressive land of silence and death, it became the only thing to move, a faint rumble as the ground became disturbed from below. The earth rose up and shook itself free of what it had been covering, a coffin of Black Carbonite which rose up from the sand slowly. It rested on the ground for only a moment before It began to glow and burn away itself, the smooth black surface vanishing as it revealed its contents. A man. He was roughly six feet tall, well muscled, with piercing eyes powered by the dark side of the force. He slowly sat up and exhaled raggedly...ancient air escaping his lungs in a cloud of white dust. He then inhaled deeply, breathing the open air in, stale and unmoving as it was. He then stood up and looked towards the sky. It was evening time, and the light of the sun was setting, casting long dark shadows across the land. Darkness would cover the valley soon. And the man known only to himself as Darth Kyber had a mission to accomplish. He had to seek out and find the New Emperor of the Sith, for only the death of the Emperor could release enough power to activate his coffin and rouse him from his ancient sleep, and as to what could have killed such a man, he could only guess at the moment. He then looked to the ancient Sith Academy that had been built countless eons ago, standing at the head of the valley like a dark mountain and made his way towards it. He had no clothing. No weapons. Nothing to cloak him from the elements save only the power of the Dark Side of the force. The Ancient final shrines of the Dark Lords looked down upon him with an almost unfeeling stare. As if they were gods passing judgement upon an insect that dared to walk among them. Darth Kyber could feel the pressure on his shoulders. As though the weight of a mountain was upon them. But he walked on, sure in his course. The hot sand burned beneath his feet, and in time it gave way to cold stone that seemed to have all warmth drawn from it like infection from a wound. He walked up the steps of the ancient academy, A pyramid of obsidian and crimson stone. It was massive, roughly the size of the jedi temple on courescant back in the days of his youth. He approached the door and saw that it had no power in it. And so, he rested his hands upon the doors...and used the force to rip them apart, revealing the inner hallways. The light of the setting sun illuminated the great hallway before him. He stepped into it and looked around. The Sith academy had clearly been dead for centuries. Even the bones of those who had died were naught but dust now. He could see old armor from troopers, scattered blast marks and lightsaber scars in the walls, Whatever had happened here, happened a long time ago. Not even the Lightsabers of the ancient sith were here. It was as though this place had been looted and pillaged by grave robbers. Had the other ancient sith tombs been robbed as well? Was all that was left of his people empty stone graves? He did not know. What he did know however is that he had a mission to accomplish. In time the light fully died as he left the main hallway and was fully shrouded in darkness. He closed his eyes, and then opened them. The hallway being illuminated to him with crimson energy as he used the force to see what was before him. The silence was deafening. Not even the screams of the ancient Sith could be heard. It was as if they had simply....ceased to be. Darth Kyber continued to walk the hallways of the academy, making his way down deeper and deeper into the temple, until he came to a small room. novice’s room. His room. He opened the door. Inside of it was a simple bed, a desk covered in dust, and an overhead light that had long run out of power. He held out his hand and used the force to move the small bed to the side. He then held a hand over the spot where his bed had been, and used the force to pull up a large tile that was just a little bit loose on the floor. Inside was his personal equipment that he had hid in here long, long ago. Prepared for the day he would leave Korriban and begin his mission. He reached in, pulled out the chest that his gear was in, and then got dressed. It was Beskar Armor with black finish on it. There was a cloth wrap around the waist that went down to his knees. A crimson shoulder cover on the left hand side, and a White Mask made of Krayt Dragon bone fashioned to look like a skull. He placed it upon his face, and then drew up the hood that was part of the armor. He then pulled out his weapon, an Ancient Sith Tremor Sword, this one fashioned from Damascened Beskar. It was a single edged sword with an ever so gentle curve to it. This was a weapon made for slicing and cutting. There was also a Dagger forged with ancient Sith Power as well. He strapped that to the back of his utility belt and hung the Tremor Sword on the left side of his hip. He then flexed his right fist....and focused. He clenched his fist harder and harder... drawing from his long dormant heart the passion and drive needed to channel the force, and as he did so, sparks began to sputter, and then fully ignite as force lightning covered his right arm. He then released the feelings and the lightning vanished. It would take time, he would have to rebuild his own strength after having been preserved for so long. But he would grow in power, and in power he would eventually find the one meant to become the Emperor of the Sith.
Darth Kyber emerged from the temple now, leaving behind him the torn open door, and approaching the side of the cliff that it rested on.. Darkness had fully covered the valley of the Dark Lords now like a veil of death and silence. He then looked up towards the sky and gazed upon the stars. somewhere, out there...among all those faint and shimmering lights...was the one. And he would find them, train them, and bring them back here to claim the throne. He drew his blade. He held it upward with both hands and channeled all the power of the Dark Side into his blade, hoping to reawaken just a fraction of his former power by tapping into the energy that surrounded the academy, causing it to erupt into a blazing torch of azure force lightning. The light glowed brightly and all around him he could feel the ancient spirits of the sith rousing from their sleep beyond the veil of death. And from above each ancient tomb of the Dark Lords crimson mist began to phase into sight, swirling around him like a maelstrom of blood as it was drawn to him like moths to a flame. The lightning began to turn crimson as a bleeding Crystal as it cracked and arced around his blade. He focused on the power now that flowed through him. And as he did, he could feel it, the surge of blood in his veins, the wash of passion and power caressing the nerve centers of his brain, the beskar strength of a thousand blades surging through his limbs, he drew upon the power, let it swell within him, as passion swells within a lover about to consummate his lust. He could feel the wrath and rage of all the fallen Sith now, slowly their screams and cries echoed though his mind as they saw from beyond the veil of death that their was still one who drew breath in their name. The Darkness was awakening again, rousing itself from the dust like a wraith. All of these sensations swirled around him as the Dark Side of the Force poured into him and then with the ferocity of a thousand Rancors Darth Kyber erupted into a roar that washed over the valley of the Dark Lords and into the mountains beyond, a sound wave of wrath and ruin disrupting the dust of a thousand year sleep upon the planet, and from that roar came an eruption of force lightning so strong and fierce it could be seen from space, an angry red storm glowing like an evil eye on the planet. Kyber focused all of his might into the roar until at last he was done, and the excess power of the valley left him. It was as though the spirits of the past had baptized him with their wrath and he was born anew. With a flourish he sheathed his blade, sliding it back into its sheath, stopping for a moment...and then finally sealing it away with a loud click as the hilt struck the sheath. Darth Kyber looked once more at the stars, and said softly...
