I was too weak. Basixally I was rlly overwhelmed by dashcon 2, and I really couldn't focus on locating the muppet joker and stabbing him. The pressure of doing my panel, meeting all the celebs, and hand8ng out all my pisslets was a lot for me.,,,

For most of the convention, he was in the volunteer lounge surrounded by people's and his lackeys, so I couldnt gettim, yk??

After the duel, I wanted to find him so I could get a few stabs in, but I messaged him on discord and apparently he left the convention after he died in the duel and I was SOOOO stressed because it meant I'd have to come home w/ a clean dagger and I knew V was going to be super disappointed in me.

Anyway, thats.. what happened I guessr. Episode 7 might come out in September or something, idk

Seeing @strange-aeons' Dashcon video again and then comparing it to what I remember from Internet Historian's video... the latter definitly feels like your stereotypical bully decided to pick up on the defenseless kid part of a minority with a bad home life...

Like the way he talks abt it (and abt neurodivergent people, queer people and feminists..), how he only chose to pick specific infos from specific places (none of which where tumblr users/people who actually went, huh...)... Also correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he.. just not even try to contact organizers or staff members ? Aside from one guy who claimed to be one but who in reality was like a dj or smth.. He didn't want to inform or educate, he wanted to cater to a specific hateful audiance, and it shows. But yk what ? It worked : 20M views

What makes DashCon 2 so fascinating is that despite how small, short, and simple it was, it still managed to entertain and satisfy hundreds of con-goers (and interested thousands more who didn't even attend!) I think we in Gen Z are so accustomed to fan gatherings in the tens of thousands that we forget most of them started out like DashCon 2. Emerald City, San Diego, AnimeExpo; all these big-named conventions started out as small community events, only bringing in about 500 attendees. Yet, everyone loved them for that! Those day-one con-goers appreciated these gatherings for what they were; a space to intermingle with people from across the country (and even the world!) who share their same niche interests. And with that success brought more awareness, more interest, more endorsements, which inevitably led to these conventions expanding, inviting more celebrities and artists, and planning bigger fan events.

Whether or not they plan on hosting another convention, I am so proud of the DashCon 2 planning committee for staying true to their promises and working with what they had, even if it wasn't much. It is good once in a while to appreciate and celebrate fandom for what it is and how it started.

THE HAUL.

Everything on the right is merch, everything on the left is Crow Exchange goodies. I had such a blast at the crow exchange, it was definitely my favorite event!!! I left with maybe only ~8 pins left out of a starting 30+ and also many other little goodies and trinkets on top.

Dashcon 2 was more of a dashcon(2014)-con than a tumblr con. It was still fun though and I hope the same team runs another one (hopefully within the next 10 years this time)
