Ectober, Day 21: Host vs. Relic
I really wanted to draw Dash, but I was intimidated by the fact that I haven’t drawn anyone that looks like him before. It wasn’t that hard in the end though.

Okay everyone here's what i think
rainbow dash/pinkie pie: this one is good i think. they get along well. they enjoy each others company. they have hobbies in common. plenty of episodes show the two of them just fucking around together. i think this is the basis for a sound relationship from which they will both derive a lot of joy. maybeee you could argue that they're both more on the immature end of things, so there Could be some issues there, possibly with communication as well.. they're both the type to historically let the bit go too far. i don't know. i don't think it's anything that couldn't be worked through, though.
rainbow dash/rarity: see i think aesthetically this one is fun. they contrast each other in interesting ways. these two are also the ones out of the mane six most motivated by professional success. pinkie pie is kind of just doing her thing (like yeah her job is throwing parties and she wants to throw bigger parties but that's more because it allows her to spread more joy you see). similarly, twilight is motivated by personal growth. i think she would be perfectly happy never being recognized for her work publicly, as long as she was provided the resources to continue to learn more and develop her magic further. applejack wants the farm to be successful but that's more a stability thing and a point of pride in her work and in her family's work, with success being a byproduct of that. it's different. fluttershy is also kind of just doing her thing. meanwhile a large part of rarity and rainbow dash's dreams involves not just getting better at the thing they're good at, but being recognized for it. because of this, i think they would be able to understand each other on a core level in this way, regardless of superficial differences. now does this mean i think they should be in a relationship? well not solely based on this. i do think they'd have a more interesting dynamic, platonic or otherwise, than many might assume.
rainbow dash/fluttershy: so they have a lot of history, which is one thing. i think there is a lot of love and affection there, which is something. however. i think both their core values and goals And their hobbies are less aligned than a lot of the other permutations possible between the mane six. like what does a date between these two look like? i have a hard time picturing something that wouldn't be one of them making some sort of compromise to do something they have little interest in. which is par for the course in a relationship, compromise is healthy, but constantly? i don't know. i just think they're more suited to a different type of relationship. i do understand the appeal, though.
rainbow dash/twilight sparkle: see i actually think they're really good for each other. we see rainbow dash, through her relationship with twilight, feeling more comfortable engaging in activities like reading, which she was initially sort of embarrassed of. i don't know, i feel like they're both, more than most of the other mane six, sort of hung up on sort of... staying in their lane, if that makes sense? like the whole thing at the start of the show was that twilight Just wanted to focus on her studies and not friendship (or anything else), and she didn't give anything else the time of day because that wasn't something she cared about. but then she tries things and discovers she likes them. similar deal with rainbow dash! i don't know, i think a relationship between these two would lead to a mutual broadening of horizons. i also think they're funny together. thumbs up from me.
rainbow dash/applejack: coughs up blood and dies
okay for real though they're my favorite ever. the friendly rivalry is really good..... similar to the way rainbow dash and pinkie pie prank others together, and rainbow dash and twilight have like. book club, applejack and rainbow dash have their friendly competitions. #charged. Also similarly to rainbow dash and pinkie pie, i think they play off of each other really well personality-wise... as much as they have their competitions periodically, you also frequently see them as a duo. a unified front. i Also think that applejack, as mentioned in the rarity/rainbow dash section of this post, sort of hits the sweet spot between content with what she has and pursuing professional success; because of this, i think she's well suited (at least on that level) to a relationship with characters on either end of that spectrum. i don't know. shared hobbies. good rapport. compatible values. i think they're just really good you guys. they get the thumbs up from me .

saw the greatest rainbow dash human design the other day where she was wearing both a hat And a sweatshirt with pngs of pony rainbow dash on them . Yeah she would wear that
when people are like "rainbow dash committing crimes and shit to keep her tortoise from hibernating was really bad for her character" um . sorry you dont get it at alllll i understand her forever and this was reasonable of her to do. i would have done it too
