its his papas ☹️
this isnt a ship, obviously, my rook was just raised by both strife and emmrich (who have been married for years in this canon)
idc what canon says, strife is a better character and has a better relationship w rook in the canon i wrote 🙄
"but it doesn't make sense" SHUT UP Emmrich and Strife are perfect for each other
I wonder why there's only one pairing for the companions you don't romance or none idk if theres one for bellara and davrin. I didn't get one and I had the best relationship with them. I only really like taash and harding. Strife and emmrich felt like it came out of no where but I guess its fine. And I just don't like neve and lucanis. Now that is externally infulenced by two things.
Neve being the absolute love of my life and people who romance lucanis being shitty little weirdo's to her (not all of them obviously). But also it just feels basic and shallow. Like they're the sultry broody characters so they put them together. Idk i would have prefered rana for neve then she wouldn't have to suffer fandom misogyny.
My dearest friend just finished her (I don't know which number) playthrough as a Veil Jumper and told me that, in her opinion, it's one of the weakly designed factions in the game.
So, obviously, I had to check this statement and started another run.
Personally, I think that pissing off Strife THAT MUCH is a sacred mission and a great achievement for every player.
And another point — Veil Jumper Rook is FINALLY quite competent in their professional shit. I like him (my Veil Jumper is male).
Dragon Age: The Veilguard (Allies)
(Also pictured, some group shots of the companions, and some random scenery shots.)
I don't have much to say about the allies, other than the fact that Vorgoth is going on my "hear me out" cake, and Antoine and Evka are adorable. And I almost cried during the dinner scene with Taash's mom. Personal experiences, and all.
But the scenery! I said before that I love the artstyle on this game, and that goes for the characters as well as the world. I took more screenshots of this game than I did of my 2.5 runthroughs of BG3, and the only game I took more landscape shots of was Tsushima, because... obviously. The "limited" artsyle allowed them to really play with colors and lighting, and also allowed for a much smoother style of animation. Everything moved so fluidly and realistically, it almost felt like watching a CG movie at times. While I will be the first to admit I wish EA would have butted out and let their developers make the game they WANTED to, there was no sacrifice made (in my mind at least) in graphics in this game. I wish more games would use a style like this.
Strife is sooo salty towards you if you play as a Veil Jumper, it's hilarious. It might have been a year or so since you sacrificed the map, but he has *not* forgotten about it and won't let you forget about it either.
