This is a mini fanfic/headcanon kinda like the one I made of Scarlemagne

Dave, Benson and Reader are like family :3

Reader’s gender is not specified at any time btw

You met Dave and Benson on one occasion when you were stealing some food from an abandoned store. You found a whole box of explosion berries and took it, those things were really good

After stealing some stuff, you were heading to your temporary shelter with the box of explosion berries in your hands. Suddenly, you tripped on a rope, causing the box to fall to the ground. “Hmm…” you muttered in slight pain from the impact

Suddenly, a boy who couldn't have been more than 6 years old and some kind of mute insect appeared. They high-fived each other and ran off with the box of explosion berries. “Hey!” you ran after them

You spent HOURS chasing each other with the box, until all three of you tripped in a mud puddle, and started laughing, realizing how stupid you looked chasing each other with the box of explosion berries. You ended up making up and sharing the cans of soda

Despite being with them for so many years, they never bored you. The three of you always did a lot of silly things together, making the surface much less horrible for you

The first time you and Benson saw Dave “die” was traumatizing, but now the three of you laugh a lot about it lmao 😭

You and Dave were always in charge of looking after Benson. The surface was quite dangerous for a little kid after all

As time went on, you and Dave began to see little Benson as a son, and he saw you as a sort of father figure. It was a pretty cute dynamic, a mute and a human taking care of a little boy that you both see as a son

Although the roles changed a bit when Dave shed his skin and became a baby. You and Benson would have to be watching out for baby Dave not putting anything weird in his mouth lmao

Old man Dave would always be scolding you and Benson 😭 (he would be one of those grandparents who would tell you “today I fought the devil on the hill” only my Hispanic audience would understand that)

One time when Benson was 10, you and Dave lost him and panicked, looking for him for quite a while, when Benson was just in Ratland lmao 😭

You and Dave have a lot of inside jokes, mostly random anecdotes

After meeting Kipo, Wolf and Mandu, you guys officially became a family! <3

At Kipo's parents' burrow, you and Mandu were the only ones who listened to Dave about the place being scary, and all three of you ended up being right lmao
