Heyyyy!!! I’d like to hear your thoughts on what living with Davesprite would be like. Would he try to preen you? Would you have to deal with feathers in your clothes? (I have a feather pillow so this keeps coming back to me.)

“What huh where are you going don’t go where are you going can I come too I wanna come”

Also in the ask you asked if he would try to preen you and YES HE WOULD.

The bird in him wants to preen you and like groom your non existent feathers

He’s glad to have his own place with you, he likes it a lot

There’s always a record playing

He floats around all content and happy and shit

Also, I think he would try to cook dinner a few times

But I don’t reckon he really knows how to cook, so he just panics and makes slightly overdone pasta.

UM. WELL. I HAVE NOT BEEN DOING THAT *OR* WRITING. APOLOGIES. This was from Sept. 30th.

However, I HAD been drafting this mentally when I was writing the Pale Dave x Reader... bc I initially misread it as Davesprite... perhaps, he is winning in my mind...?

Listen. He is nesting. He is insisting he is not nesting. You look at it. It is a huddle of blankets and soft things you and him both fit perfectly in laying down together. There are entertainment devices and snacks within arms reach. It is a nest. You tell him it is a nest. He ruffles his feathers at you.

He WILL be preening you, okay? He doesn't know that's what he's doing, but if he spots a stray strand of hair on you, he's picking it off and then getting absorbed in getting your hair nice and neat and making sure your outfit is clean too. He'll say he doesn't want you to do it back, but if you play with his feathers, he's immediately a sucker for it. He'll look at you really sad if you stop.

He likes physical affection a LOT. He wants to hold onto you, wants to cling onto you like some little koala. He likes being able to touch you. He likes knowing you're real and not going anywhere.

He's not one to talk about his feelings- when he's mourning he either shuts down or deflects. But he's a good listener when you need it. Sometimes there's things he just can't joke about, and how other people feel is one of those times.

He takes the sword out of his chest before touching you, no matter what. He doesn't want to risk anything. Making you bleed, accidental or not, is unforgivable.

He's quite the talker when he's not downtrodden. He likes rambling about nonsense and it's hard to follow unless you've got ADHD to parallel his own. He likes spouting nonsense rhymes in the middle of his rants, and if you start rhyming with him, you can watch his wings flap slightly in excitement.

A lot of his body is a tell to how he's feeling, even if his face is relatively blank. He puffs up, he flutters, he twitches and jerks, his sprite tail waggles and sways. It's really funny when you can tell he's trying to impress you and his feathers poof around his neck.

Davesprite and you spent a lot of time together. Those who didn't know you well didn't understand how the two of you could get together at all. It was something strange for them, but Davesprite knew you well and understood that you were much better than you seemed at first glance

Many people were sure that you were selfish. You might seem arrogant and self-centered, but you weren't. Davesprite would rather call you single-minded, because you always followed your goal without questioning your methods. You always got the best out of the case you took on

Despite the fact that you seemed arrogant to others, you didn't have the highest self-esteem. Davesprite understood you and you, seeing that he often underestimated himself, sincerely wanted to help him. You could be obsessive and you could do a lot to help him. Davesprite understood this and tried not to give you any reason to worry about him

Davesprite cherished you, because thanks to you, many bright colors appeared in his life. He hoped that when you were safe and you didn't have to run anywhere else, you could be happy together

You and Lil Hal have been chatting by correspondence for a long time. He liked you, and sometimes when Dirk told him about you, Hal realized that you didn't even open up to Dirk the way you opened up to him. It even flattered Hal. He was pleased to realize that he knew you better than his creator, who was actually your friend and the one through whom you met

To many, you seemed distant and insensitive, but Hal knew that you were hiding a lot of emotions. It was much easier for you to show your real self with him, because you knew that Hal would not tell anyone about it, including Dirk. It was your shared secret that you both kept even from your friends. Not so much because you wanted to hide your real self from them. You just didn't want to show them what you weren't ready to flaunt

You've always tried to do a lot for the good of people close to you, including convincing Dirk to make a body for Hal. You really wanted to help him and he appreciated it. You were, it would seem, the only one who really cared about his fate and his life. Even when you had problems yourself, you didn't talk about it, continuing to smile, but Hal saw it and came to your aid, even if that help was just to listen to you

There were few people who saw exactly Hal, and not Dirk or his answering machine. Your appearance made him feel alive, a real person, and he hoped that one day you would be able to be together for real

It was a terribly windy and wet night. The scheduled thunderstorm had rolled in earlier than it had been scheduled. The plans of stargazing with Dave that night had been put in a rain check, literally.

You were currently poking at the burning log in the fireplace with the dark metal rod that stood next to it. The embers rising up into the air when you moved the spent log over to the side.

You felt Dave floating next to you, the air that carried from his wings causing your locks of hair to sway slightly. You looked up at him with a small smile, he was completely drenched from head to wing feathers.

Dave had tried his best to save the laundry that was hung up on the line outside on the balcony before it had gotten too wet, but it didn’t work out that well. And his well intentions just caused his body to resemble a wet cat, cold and miserable.

His blond locks stuck to his head and sides of his face and he blew at the annoying strands of hair with a huff.

You noticed the log of wood in his grasp and took it from him. Bringing up your hand to his forehead you swept the soft locks out of his face. “Thank you for at least attempting to save the laundry, Dave.” You said in a soft voice, pressing forward to kiss his cold forehead. “And for the firewood.”

He gave a audible hum and your gesture, his cheeks warming. He watched as you placed the log on the small fire slowly as not to burn yourself and poked around the embers.

When you were satisfied with the warmth that came from the small flames you covered the opening of the fireplace back with the large metal mesh to make sure nothing else caught fire than what you wanted to.

You wiped at your pants leg to get rid of the ash that had stained them. You observed the room to see that Dave had flew to your shared room for a change of clothes out of the damp and cold ones he had on previously. And was currently attempting to search for a clean towel from the table to dry his hair and wings.

You grabbed a towel that you had folded earlier from the table and gently coaxed him to the couch and he did so wordlessly.

You brought the soft and fresh towel and covered his head with it and gently rubbed in circles to rid your boyfriend of the cold moisture that had caused him to shiver. After you had worked the majority of the water from his hair you moved onto the task of his wings.

You took each feather carefully in your palms and rubbed the towel against them, knowing his wings and feathers were his most sensitive part of his body.

You noticed his head had begun to dip slightly the more you worked against him. A small but very much there sound of cooing emitting from his throat.

Your heart swelled slightly at this and the smile on your lips widened as you pressed on in drying his feathers. It was a few more moments before Dave had bent forward and flapped his wings slowly to test them out, seeing if they were dry enough to work with.

He moved them more and fluttered them happily, doing a slight spin to shake off all the remaining raindrops. He flew over to you with a uncommon beam on his face and wrapped his arms around your waist and nuzzled into your neck.

“Thank you Y/N.” He mumbled against you, the smile still on his face.

You brought your hand up to his back and rubbed the space between his wings. This caused a low coo to begin again from him, though this time he was trying to contain it.

You noticed this and moved your fingers to the base layer of feathers and rubbed underneath them. This caused a louder sound to emit from his throat and his face flushed a bright red in response to the noise.

“Y/N, why do you always do that?” He almost whined but his throat clicked happily the longer you rubbed at the sweet spot on his back.

“Because I enjoy your reaction.” You replied simply, pressing your lips against his now slightly damped hair.

He only hummed in reply and nuzzled into your neck more comfortably, stretching out his wings to cover the both of you.

It wasn’t often that Dave got to relax like this, to feel this safe. But when it was with you, it really did make his heart beat happily inside him. You were home, you were comfort.

He glanced up at you through his shades, your face serene and quiet. Comfortable.

He enjoyed when the two of you got to cuddle together like this. He wouldn’t dare do this in front of or with anyone else. With you though, yes, always, without hesitation.

Your body was so soft against him, his wings covered you up protectively in their soft grasp. As long as he was there with you, no one would come to harm you. He would suffer all that time alone in his doomed timeline again if it meant that you were safe.

For now however, just being able to cuddle you was all that mattered to him as the rain continued loudly outside.

-He's mostly a protective and obsessive yandere, but he's quite possessive over his darling as well. He tries to play it down though, and acts like it's not as much of a problem as it is.

-He'll stalk his darling from afar for a while before he approaches them, learning their interests so he doesn't make too much of a fool of himself when talking to them.

-He'll talk to them normally, and try his best to hide the obsession and jealousy that's boiling just under the surface. He tries to be their friend, then a closer friend, and then their lover.

-He acts very indirectly about it though, and it might not even seem like he's trying to make a move on them before he gets around to kidnapping them.

-It takes him a while to kidnap his darling because he wants them to love him genuinely. He doesn't want to force them to love him, and he'll wait for the longest time before kidnapping them, giving them so many chances to fall in love with him.

-Once he does kidnap them, he's careful not to do anything to lose any trust or affection that he gains, aside from the initial kidnapping.
