He cares a lot about being seen with you, and YOU being seen with HIM. He's quick to initiate affection in public, but is completely knocked off guard when you do the same. Sure, he wants to be a status symbol around you, but it's still plenty embarrassing to him.
He has a very, very hard time being vulnerable. Whenever he is, it comes with a surge of embarrassment and depression. Luckily, he's more than happy to grab on to you. He'll take anything to the grave so long as you promise never to let anyone know he cries.
He gets dizzy when kissed. His fins wiggle and flap like he's trying to fly away. Sucker for the simple and chaste things, but might kiss you so hard you can't breathe. Forgets not everyone has gills.

DIRK STRIDER X READER GENERAL HEADCANONS
compared with Dave, the Striders are very similar, stoic, ironic, and all that stuff.
One of the key differences is their tell(for like emotions?). Dave has a lot of control over his voice, but you can see it in his face, whereas Dirk has a lot of control over his face, but you can hear emotions in his voice.

-They would kidnap you, after all it's far safer for you to be in a house with them than it is for you to be on your own in such a harsh, cruel world.
-They would tell you about their day, and their most recent accomplishments. You'd be expected to congratulate them for what they've done. They just want your support, is that so much to ask?
-If you don't react how they want you to, they'll likely leave you isolated until you feel like you need social contact to be well. They'd never leave you somewhere where you could get hurt, but they wouldn't be against leaving you locked alone in a small room in the house.
-With Rose's foresight, you would never be able to get away from the two of them. She would let Dave know if she was expecting you to make an attempt, and the two of them would foil whatever plan you had.
