ok this is actually so difficult for me because the majority of my teenage years were spent watching television but let’s give it a shot

okay so honestly big up to schitt’s creek for portraying a healthy gay relationship as just a relationship. a lot of shows choose to make same sex relationships more “dramatic” by making other characters or the character’s parents homophobic but not once does the show even try to use that tactic for the sake of ratings

the only time that the possibility of homophobia is discussed is during the episode where patrick comes out to his parents’ and honestly like the disapproving parent trope is so prevalent in straight relationships as well that im not even mad they used it

i just - patrick and david’s relationships go through ups and downs but its never specifically because they're a queer couple and i love that so much

A story about an unlikely friendship, and community.

I loved this fic in large part bc it just feels the same way Schitt’s Creek does. The characters are incredibly on point, especially David, and I love that it explored a bit more the David & Ronnie relationship we don’t see as much in the show. Plus queer community fic is absolutely my jam and it was so heartwarming to see the people of Schitt’s Creek supporting their tiny queer community so enthusiastically. Just a real feel good fic <3
