THE GENTLE YEARNING IN DAWN, I- vampire Sakusa is such a good concept and the whole story was so quietly /painful/ omg, the way he denied himself and his own needs and desires hurt me so bad 🤧 BUT THEN CAME READER being so sweet and so brave and understanding and warm, and I love love love the sun motif with Sakusa watching the sunlight (that whole passage!! The inner conflict!!) and the sunflowers and reader being something akin to the sun 😭 gosh this was lovely, thank you sm for writing it!!
THANK YOU!!!! i really enjoyed writing dawn because i like playing with the concept of vampires, loneliness and self-loathing, but in a way that’s more,,, subtle? i mean, he calls himself a monster, but if i’d written a longer piece, i would’ve liked to explore how someone deals with the fact that they have to live with themselves for potentially an eternity.
i’ve also really been feeling light metaphors recently ahdkdkdk and the theme that loving someone won’t fix them, nor will it erase their problems, but it helps more than you could imagine (but ofc being careful as to not give too much of yourself to someone else, lest you lose yourself or jeapordise your own mental health and well-being!)
i know you didn’t ask for me to break it down but HHHHH thank you, i’m glad you enjoyed it!
