Doodle of Derek and my oc Ira bc I’ve been busy and haven’t posted

Derek was sick and tired of being sick and tired. So, he did something about it. On a full moon night, he slipped from the Medbay, snuck outside the castle walls from the route he'd memorized from his mandatory mental health walks, and disappeared into the depths of the woods around the castle. Was it dangerous? Maybe. But he has talons, and a dagger he'd nicked from an armor stand on his way out that had looked ever so shiny in the moonlight.

He'd be fine.

3 hours and no sign of the castle later, he finally stops walking. For a breather (he's still recovering and all that yellow gets to be too much sometimes, even for him), but also for some of the snack he'd brought with him.

A bush rustling stops him in his tracks, hand swapping from grabbing water to being on the hilt of their dagger. His wings flare up, an instincts-driven attempt to look larger, scarier, than the unknown within the wood.

"Show yourself."
