While I am still in France right now, I have actually left Paris for now (my schedule is hard to edit on here, so it really hasn’t followed my path too well). I’m currently in a small town in Normandy called Pontorson. I’ll only be here for a few days because it’s close to Mount St. Michel, which is really where I want to be. Then I will be in another city in Normandy and then, finally return to Paris.
My plan in Paris was to stay at a bookstore and pay by helping around the store. Unfortunately, when I got there it was fully booked and they told me to come back in two weeks because they may have space then. I stayed in Paris for a few days to see my wonderful Parisian friend, but then decided to explore other parts of France for the remaining days of those two weeks.
The last few days I was in Guérande, a tiny, medieval town in Western France. It’s absolutely gorgeous and the walled center of the city was very small but really fun to walk around. From there , I was able to walk to the salt marshes. That area is famous for them, and it what I really went to see. Above is a picture. When you look at their location on a map, it looks like they go on forever. I didn’t take an official tour but just enjoyed walking around.
So now I’m made it to Pontorson and we’ll make sure to enjoy western France while I’m here. I truly can’t say much about Paris because I did very little when I was there those few days. I’ll do the real exploring when I get back
