The World Of dBase III (1984)
Anthony Fineran (B 1981), 'DBase Col', 2025
#retrocomputingmx #Dbase #AshtonTate
The World of dBASE with Gentry Lee (1984)
Description from an earlier upload:
An instructional video on how to begin using dBASE. Created by Software Video Productions in 1984. The video is quite well produced, and does an admirable job of trying to explain a database product that has what is, in retrospect, an unnecessarily difficult interface, More info on dBASE can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DBase. This was captured from laserdisc by me; the only post-processing was 30i to 60p deinterlacing, video noise reduction, and editing both laserdisc sides together into a single video. Even with reduction, there is nothing that can be done about the laserdisc "rot" towards the middle of the video as that was the end of one side of the disc, but as soon as the second side begins, the video noise is gone (laser rot usually affects only one side of a disc).
I don't do a lot with #DOS but while organising my #Collection and found this little gem. The #dBaseIII Command & Ref-Guide. This has always been my favorite #Database program. They don't make them like this no more... #dBase #Retro #RetroComputing #RetroGaming #RetroGame #dBase #ReferenceGuide https://www.instagram.com/p/Ca2T_-PAjTG/?utm_medium=tumblr

Corrupted DBF Files – How To Prevent And Repair Dbase Corruption
.DBF (DataBase File) files are some of the most commonly used files across multiple applications. First introduced as part of the archaic Dbase language, which later went through multiple versions before finally becoming xBase, the dbf extension has become somewhat of a standard for most programs that compile and structure data into specific ‘quantas’. Some of the commonly used programs that…
