Until then, how about I give you a peak behind the curtain so you can see what is to come :)

He looked to his left at his sister, Jazz, who was deeply focused on the thick psychology textbook in front of her, her dark blue eyes scanning the dense text and taking in the information. She had always been fascinated by the mysteries of the human mind, and the textbook was filled with interesting insights and theories. As she read, she occasionally made notes in the margins or underlined passages that she found particularly interesting. She would occasionally look up from her textbook, look at her phone, and glance over at Danny, as if checking to make sure he was still there. If their eyes met, she would give him a reassuring smile and go back to working on her textbook.

“So,” started Danny, “what project are you working on this time?”

“This one’s funny actually, I have to write an academic paper investigating the influence of family dynamics on children's development.” The both chuckled a bit from the irony. “It’s not due for a while, but I think it’s best for me to get ahead of my schoolwork so I can focus on finding a job out here.”

The conversation paused, Jazz could tell Danny was on high alert as they passed through the narrows. He looked as if he was wound up by a string, ready to jump up at a moments notice. She could practically hear his core humming with anxiety as he fiddled his hands, staring daggers out of the bus window.

“I know this is a lot of change, and that Gotham isn’t exactly the most… safe place, but it has the most, stuff” she exaggerated the word, “for your ‘condition.’ Besides, I can handle myself, I’ll be ok.” Danny wanted to believe that.

“I know, it’s just…” He didn’t need to complete his sentence, nor did he want to in a public setting.

“I know.” She gave him a small smile, worry hidden in her eyes. He knew that Jazz could take on an entire platoon and be fine, but that didn’t stop the aching he could feel in his core. No amount of reasoning would sate his obsession.

The chapter is almost finished I SWEAR I’m SO SORRY it a been taking so long but yk Christmas happened then new years and I got super sick AND on top of that I work a full time job it’s just been so much. SO as an apology I wanted to give you guys a sneak-peek of what to expect from this chapterl!

Chapter 2, Embrace the Unknown

Tim made his way up the staircase and went to Damian’s room. He found that the brat had left his door open, and he peeked his head inside, looking for traps. Damian was at his desk, sharpening and carefully inspecting one of the many swords that he usually hung on his walls.

“What do you want, Drake? Surely you did not come to my room just to stand in the doorway.” Damian called out, still sharpening his blade.

“Are you busy right now? I wanted to ask a favor.”

“Does it look like I’m busy, Drake?” He cleaned and oiled the blade, cut his thumb purposefully and put it back in its scabbard before hanging it back on the wall.

“Um, yes?”

“Good to know your eyes are working. Now leave my room.” He grabbed another sword from the wall and unsheathed it, glaring at Tim.

“It’s important, there are unknown metas in Gotham, it could be trouble.” Tim called the brats bluff, keeping half of himself in Damian’s room. There’s no way he would stab him… again… right?

“Last chance Drake, I have not yet cleaned this blade, so I have no qualms with dirtying it. Leave.” He pointed the blade threateningly at Tim, unblinking. Okay so maybe he wasn’t bluffing. He needed to get Damian interested in this fast, or else this was going to be like when the brat first showed up all over again.

“You know, I thought one of them was one of your clones at first, he looked exactly like you.” That caught the brats attention. He lowered his blade slightly as Tim continued. “I think he’s somewhere around your age too, only reason I knew he definitely wasn’t you is because was he was smiling, oh and his eyes were blue.”

If Tim blinked, he wouldn’t have been able to see how quickly Damian sheathed his blade. Something he said had caught the demon brats attention, and he wasn’t going to question it as long as all his blood stayed on the inside.

“What do you want me to do Drake?” Tim took that as permission to enter the room, ignoring the glare that was still pointed in his direction.

“I’m directing a debrief on the situation, as I have the most information on the two of them. I haven’t been able to get any photos of their faces, though, and I know you’re an artist, so I was thinking you could maybe help me out?” The question hung in the air for what seemed like forever, Damian glaring at Tim, and Tim ready to book it if things go wrong.

“Your share of Alfred’s cookies. For a month.” That… wasn’t too unreasonable, especially for the brat. Something was up.

“That’s it?” The question was met with silence. Everyone would kill for Alfred’s cookies, including Tim, but if he could get Damian to actually work with him on something, maybe the cookies were worth it. “Deal.”

Hey! Just letting y’all know that due to a high amount of requests I’m making my first fanfiction! It’s gonna be a dpxdc fic, posted on AO3! I haven’t decided on a name yet, but once I have I’ll do a title drop! First chapter will be posted on Dec 28th! Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

THE FIRST CHAPTER HAS BEEN WRITTEN JDSCBLJEBCJKEBWCBB

Turning Shadows Into Shapes will be posted on the 28th! I’m super exited for this! I have to do some final edits tomorrow with a fresh pair of eyes, but other than that I’m done! I’ll start in the next chapter soon, I’ll see how fast I can write this amount comfortably with the next chapter so I can post on a regular schedule, I’m thinking once every week or once every two weeks, I’m not sure yet, don’t want to burn out. I’ll be doing a livestream drawing tomorrow night at 5PM CDT on my TikTok, @ dilee404 of a scene from the first chapter and drawing some of my followers so join me for that!
