I had a funny thought that in high school Jai becomes sorta of like the guy that every parent wants their daughter to date, look Jai stays out of trouble, we can assume he gets decent if not great grades and he's a Mama's boy and always looks out for others...so what do the other people in the school do with these facts?

Well it all starts with one girl who's dating someone who she loves but her parents think aren't a good match for her so she asks Jai if he could be the one that pretends to be her boyfriend and Irey when she hears this cause she usually sits at the same table of him just goes "Jai! Don't be stupid! You know this could go wrong! Please just this once. You don't need to help someone" and so Jai agrees, you know after making sure that the girls actual BF is an actual decent guy

And irey is basically telling him throughout the day this is a bad idea, in class, in the library, in the walk home from school, in patrol when he's with his friends, in his room, in the kitchen, outside the bathroom cause she respects his privacy, she loves her brother more than anything in the world but the kid has a few issues with saying no even if it's something small just to help people

So when the "date" comes around he legit just wears his Mobile suit Gundam T shirt, some swim trunks he thought were basketball shorts and goes on his merry way, irey is screaming internally and calls up Lian because he's being an idiot again, a well meaning idiot but an idiot nonetheless so he goes on the date meets the girls parents and it goes surprisingly well!!

Yeah, I mean he was basically just there for the free food and was just sitting there and answered simple questions but I mean it went well

So he just thinks this is just a one time thing, he helped someone, he can go home...and then it happens again...and then again, and then 3rd, then 4th, then 5th and so on and so forth, he legit doesn't know what's happening but doesn't care, he's getting free food and he can just sit there and look like a little guy, Irey catches on what's happening, tells him and what does he say at this big drop of information

"huh... honestly doesn't explain why some girls give me their numbers"

Oh yeah forgot to mention, Jai may be an awkward little lad but he's got rizz, the guy is adorable...but he has a very hard time processing those types of actions towards him or even getting a hint so this really comes up when Lian comes up to him and tells him outright "hey wanna go out?" After 5 attempts of asking him out that fail horribly so yeah

Eventually it stops and things go back to normal but for that short amount of time irey is pulling her hair out because Jai needs to gain a backbone and realize he doesn't need to Help EVERYONE...the girls giving him numbers don't stop until he starts to date Lian and they are seen kissing in the street

Jai, our favorite oblivious lad. Has rizz but doesn't know, oh and meeting Lian's parents went well with Roy because he was already jai's mentor, uhh jade gave him 7 days to hide and he spent 8 days hiding out in Lian's old toy box playing with mega bloks

Oh and if he ever wants to wear a suit, his mom has to come with because he has no idea how to negotiate prices, so you could just imagine him basically entering a statue like state until his mom arrives, mamas boy

You know something that I've been finding weird with the recent artist interpretations of irey and Jai is that despite both of them being Korean, they don't really have any Korean/Asian features (please correct me if that's the right way to say it) And if anything all they do is give Jai Tan skin and Make Irey bascailly a genderbent Verison of her father which I kinda feels like leads to unfortunate misconceptions about their heritage cause the two are biracial (Asian and Caucasian) but there's really no sign of that minus for giving Jai Darker skin which feels first, really messed up and second Really going lazy especially with Irey

Irey just looking like a female version of her father is just lazy character design and giving Jai just darker skin just feels Like "Sighh here's your reminder" rather than actually caring and again this has led to some very unfortunate headcanons about the two, both of them should have Asian features because well there mother is Korean (yes I know she was born in Chicago but she has been shown to have asian features too) it just feels lazy and I'm not asking for much, I understand the artists are on tight deadlines especially if they work on different books but they could at the very least have something yk? Rather than just Making Jai have a tan skin color and making Irey basically white despite her being Mixed

I hope this post doesn't come off as offensive I really tried my best to word my words right because I do genuinely care about this seriously, genuinely I do, there needs to be more work put in for Jai and Irey's appearances if they are mixed just giving Jai one trait and keeping Irey essentially white just feels wrong

I honestly see Jai being open to having open contact with Thad and even willing to hang out with him in whatever city he's hanging out in without supervision because while yes Thad has done bad things and while yes Thad has hurt people the same could be said with Hartley and other villains who have Turned to the side of good and while Jai is a child he does have a understanding on how redemption should work

Redemption shouldn't just be given out, if a person gets redemption it should be because the person who wants to be redeemed is willing to put in the work for it and Thad would fit that description, he realizes he's done bad and wants to change and isn't willing to whine even if he's being mistreated by people like Tim (but more on his and tims very weird relationship another time)

Jai is a compassionate person and while that compassion can be used against him at the same time he judges people based on their wants and actions, and even then compassion and empathy is very different take for example Greta being empathetic to thad's feeling of being left alone in a world despite having connections and his fear of death while Jai would be more about wanting Thad to feel better about him he wouldn't understand thad's situation but he would want His uncle to feel at least loved

And while I talk about this rq, I do want to note that yes Jai can empathize with Thad somewhat with how the flash family would treat him since his Relationship with Jesse caused him to enter a state of reclusion and Depression, the rest of the family cares about him and wants him to be happy meanwhile with Thad if he ever went back to the flash family Wally is going to Bash his head against a table, Jay and Max would probably talk behind his back and give weird looks and not allow him to be alone and Iris would probably just outright tell him that he means nothing to him so while Jai could empathize with him it would most likely be very little

At the end of the day what makes Jai the most unique amongst his family is his compassion, he's not the smartest tool in the shed and I do see Irey and Wally telling him that this could eventually lead to him getting hurt if Thad ever goes rogue again, Jai is still going to be there to at least check on his uncle and remind him that he doesn't need to worry that much cause he's got people

Also like Jai has probably been through worse cause of his compassion I mean at an extremely young age he had to process the fact him and iris had to die which caused his connection to the speedforce to mutate him and then there was after his sister was freed from queen bee where he began to train like crazy which caused Wally to get worried so I think Thad going rogue again would probably be the least horrible thing he went through for others to feel okay like the kid does not care for himself when he was mutating he specifically stated Irey and not him the fact people think he's boring before the Spurrier run is baffling

But I'm getting ahead of myself, also let the twins call Bart, uncle, them saying cousins is just confusing to me
