by day, joshua foley is a socialite. blonde haired, blue-eyed, and as devastatingly beautiful as a greek god. his employer, one miss emma frost, has made quite the impression on gotham's high society. as her right hand man, he joins her for each and every social function, sticking out like a sore thumb in these high society galas.
but when the party ends and the deals begin, he is he is the black bishop. gunmetal grey skin, white hair, white eyes. serving as nothing more than lethal right-hand man to the black king of the hellfire club. what emma can't brute-force from the minds of her opponents, josh wrings out of them in ways he doesn't much care to think about.
but with the x-men now gone and the government dead-set on eliminating the genetic threat of mutation once and for all - drastic times call for drastic measures.
the hellfire club is different from the rest of gotham's crime syndicates. at least, that's what josh tells himself. he'd been roped in by the promise that they were out to protect mutants in one of the most corrupt cities in America, but truthfully he feels as though all he's doing is extorting wealthy low-lifes for exorbitant profits.
( it makes him feel gross, making these guys sick and offering the cure only if they agree to play by emma's rules - but she's at least making sure they're the sort who deserve it. )
by night, gotham's streets are graced with a new vigilante. a doctor. golden skinned, capable of healing even the most lethal of wounds, elixir operates without an office. more than just healing the injured, though, he provides shelter and protection to those who need it.
he's never felt the duality of his nature quite so strongly. all he can say is that if he's going to do this much evil for the greater good, then he has to get out and do good just for the sake of it.
