Some thoughts on “The Flash” Mid-season finale:

This is kind of late but I had no time during the week so better late then never. SPOILERS!!!!

BOI! The last ten minutes had my brain spinning. That twist at the end was so well done. I can’t wait to see how the writers handle the trial of the Flash storyline, it should be super interesting. Even though I hate to see Barry in pain and behind bars on Christmas after he literally just got married to the love of his life, I hope the Trial of The Flash story goes on for more than just one episode and has some solid repercussions for the rest of the season and possibly future seasons. I mean they have been teasing this since Season 1 so we better get a decent pay-off from it (As soon as I saw the knife in the beginning, I was like, “Oh noooooo, throw that the hell away Barry!”).

Also anytime Caitlin starts to fall for a guy, Team Flash needs to do like full background check on them. After the whole Zoom debacle in season 2, I feel like it’s only fair. Speaking of Caitlin and relationships, I LOVE Amunet Black. Katee Sackhoff does such a good job playing her and I would totally watch a show about Amunet as a mean British nanny. I love the back and forth between her and Caitlin/Killer Frost. I’m so happy that she’s on the show and I cannot wait to see more of her, I really hope they don’t kill off Amunet because she’s such an entertaining villain- that likes to give pep talks to her captives? I don’t know that part was just a tad strange, but I still enjoyed it.

I know a lot of West Allen fans, including myself, were a little bitter about the unexpected double wedding in the Crisis on Earth-X crossover, so I thought the not-so-subtle shade that Iris tossed Olicity’s way was pretty funny(then again I don’t watch Arrow so I know nothing about this couple except for when they appear on the other shows). Also, isn’t Oliver super rich? And he got Iris and Barry an expresso machine that wasn’t even on their registry? I’m sorry guys but you can do better than that considering you did hijack their wedding just as they were about to say, “I do.”

I loved Gypsy’s little “present” to Cisco. That bit was super funny. Speaking of which, I want to see more of Gypsy/Cynthia. Not only is she a badass but her and Cisco have a really cute relationship.

Alright to wrap this up, we still have yet to hear the lines; “Nora shouldn‘t be here,“ and “We‘re gonna need more diapers,“ from when Barry first got out of the Speed Force in episode 1(I feel like we’re gonna hear Barry say that line about him not killing anyone fairly soon so that’s why I didn‘t include it). Also how long do you think it’ll take Team Flash to figure out that those symbols Barry was writing might actually be super important and that everything he said is starting to come true?? I feel like they should be a little more suspicious by now but that’s just me.

Prediction Time: What if, and this is big what if, the waitress girl that was talking to Barry from the crossover(who is clearly a West Allen), helps the team with Barry’s trial by providing them info on it since she might be from the future and knows about this already. This is stretching it a bit, but I’m hopeful. It would be pretty weird of the writers to introduce that girl and give her a decent chunk of screen time in an episode that’s already packed with characters, give her lines like, “Just make sure you say ‘I do,’“ and then never use her again. Unless they make her a future villain in which case, poo.
