A/N: I finally finished! Time snuck up on me, so this ended up being a little rushed. This is for the DCTV Halloween Challenge! I wanted to get back into the writing mindset and, with NaNo coming up FAST, this was a great way to do it! Take note, this is sliiightly canon divergent. The prompts I chose are listed below! Now, without further ado, enjoy some Flash chaos!

A quick glance at the others in the room told him he wasn’t the only one staring.
Honestly, they should have seen this coming. He always got excited - they all got excited when it came to this holiday - but this… They hadn’t seen this before. Usually, it was an overkill costume or crazy decorations. This was a new one.
“That’s, uh…” Barry rubbed the back of his neck, looking between the mountain of candy and Cisco. “A lot?”
“Cisco, exactly how much did this cost?” Caitlin asked, sounding somewhere caught between stern and heavily amused.
The doctor was in costume, decked out head to toe in...sparkles. Honestly, Barry hadn’t believed her when she said she was dressing up as Elsa, but here she was, wearing a white wig and killer eye shadow.
Cisco shrugged, like having six huge bags of Halloween candy was a normal occurrence. He was also dressed up for the occasion, decked out in the best and most affordable Batman costume he could find. The first time Barry had seen the costume, he’d wondered how his friend would fit all his hair beneath the mask. Apparently, Cisco’s solution to the problem had been to use one of the cheesy sunglasses masks. The contrast between the sunglasses mask and the semi-realistic costume was amusing, to say the least, but Cisco wore the glasses proudly.
As for Barry himself, he was dressed up as Batman’s friend-slash-enemy. In his defense, he’d had no idea Cisco was going to be Batman until after Barry had bought his costume. So, there they were. Cisco in a fun Batman costume and Barry with a red cape with Superman’s signature symbol on his chest.
“Enough that I’m probably going to be working overtime for a few weeks,” Cisco admitted before grinning. He bounced on his feet, clearly not bothered by this. “But isn’t it awesome? There’s no way we’re running out of candy this year!”
That got a laugh out of Barry. “That is true,” he admitted. “No, with this much candy, we’ll probably have enough for next year too.”
“That’s right!” Cisco cheered. He spread his arms wide, smiling proudly. “And we’ll once again be the cool house on the block.”
Barry shook his head, grinning, and walked over to one of their kitchen cabinets to take out one of the large, plastic Halloween bowls they’d gotten for candy at the dollar store while Caitlin raised an eyebrow. “We lost that status?” She questioned. “I wouldn’t have expected that, considering the fog machine you have hooked up every year.”
“Yeah, that is pretty awesome,” Cisco admitted, looking towards the dining room, where said machine was waiting to be set up. He sighed dramatically after a moment, “But,” he turned to face Caitlin again, the cape on his costume swaying with the movement, “sadly, yes, we lost the cool house status, because someone had to give out raisins last year.”
Barry pressed his lips together to keep from laughing as Caitlin’s mouth dropped open. “They were chocolate covered!” She protested, arms flying as she defended herself. “Those are good! And better than the obscene amount of candy you have stacked behind you!”
“The neighborhood kids think otherwise, Miss Snow,” Cisco chirped. He patted the stacked candy bags on the kitchen counter, a wide smirk settling on his face. “See, what kids look forward to most on Halloween is sweets. They get to eat as much as their parents will allow in a single night, and have plenty more for the days to come. It’s a special time. Raisins aren’t exactly something they look forward to. Even chocolate covered ones.”
Caitlin huffed and crossed her arms, lips jutting out in a pout. “I still say it’s not my fault. You were the one who-”
“Ah ah ah!” Cisco interrupted hurriedly, voice taking on a panicked pitch as he waved his hands in the air. “We don’t speak of that, remember? Lesson learned, trust me. I will never be making that mistake again.”
Barry smiled at his two friends, setting the bowl he got down next to the candy bags. “Well, this year there’ll be no raisins and no… Incidents. So, really, it’s win-win,” he said.
“I’ll accept that,” Caitlin smiled. She walked into the kitchen, her blue heels clicking, and grabbed a pair of scissors from a drawer. “Now come on, let’s get the candy set up for later.”
Cisco grabbed and grabbed the first bag. “I can get behind that.”
The three of them filled the bowl for the trick-or-treaters, then another for themselves to enjoy during the night. Now, the bowls weren’t small. They were fairly large. Yet, when they were done, there was still over half the candy leftover.
Barry crossed his arms and looked between the bags and the bowls. “So… I’m think we probably needed a bucket instead. A really big one.”
Caitlin hummed an affirmative. “We have the bucket we used for bobbing for apples last year,” she suggested.
Cisco waved a hand dismissively. “Nah, it’s fine. We’ll just give out tons of candy this year.”
“Almost literally,” Caitlin joked, red lips pulling up into a grin.
Before Cisco could reply, the bell rang, sounding over the spooky background music they’d been playing for the past hour. “I’ll get it,” Barry said, already moving.
He strode across the house, feeling himself start to smile again as he reached the front door, knowing exactly who’d be be there. Sure enough, when he unlocked and opened it, there stood Wally and Iris in all of their Halloween glory.
With many pumpkins on the porch.
“Hey!” Iris greeted, stepping forward to greet him with a hug. After a second, she pulled back and nodded towards the ground. “We brought the pumpkins, but we’ll need some extra hands to bring them inside.”
Barry had always thought she was a princess, but tonight, she literally was. Wearing a flowing gown of greens and creams, long white gloves pulled up to her elbow, and dark hair done in an elegant bun, she looked exactly like Princess Tiana.
Beside her, Wally was also proudly wearing his costume. And once it clicked in Barry’s mind what exactly he was wearing, he doubled over laughing.
“You did not!” He exclaimed, his loud laughs dying down into chuckles. He looked at his stepbrother again and shook his head, smiling widely. “Oh my God. Wally.”
Wally looked very proud of Barry’s reaction, if his grin was anything to go by. “Whaaat?” He asked, dragging out the word and fighting laughter himself. “Iris supports it!”
Barry exclaimed, “And I do too! I just...” He waved a hand up and down, gesturing the cheesy Flash costume, “didn’t expect this, is all.”
Iris rolled her eyes fondly at the boys, smiling at their antics. Before the conversation could go any further, she jumped in. “Come on, let’s get these pumpkins inside!”
With help some Cisco and Caitlin, the five of them got all the pumpkins inside and set up on the dining table, which had been completely covered in newspapers, along with various other things to help with pumpkin carving and decorating. Bowls, paints stencils, knives, and more were all laying on the paper, waiting to be used.
While waiting for the last guests to arrive, the five killed time by telling stories and talking. And laughing. Because the second Caitlin and Cisco saw Wally’s costume, it was chaos.
Caitlin slammed a hand over her mouth, eyes crinkling and shining as she tried not to laugh. Cisco, on the other hand, was gaping at Wally and looked like he’d just been betrayed.
“That’s what you dress up as?!” He yelled in disbelief. “Seriously? Why not Vibe, huh? Huh? I mean, the Flash is cool, but come on-”
Wally winced and hissed through his teeth. “Yeah, about that...”
When he didn’t continue, Cisco whipped off his Batman glasses and narrowed his eyes. “What?”
Wally clapped his hands together, took a deep breath, and... “They had no Vibe costumes.”
Cisco blinked. His eyebrows furrowed. He was silent for a moment... “WHAT?”
“Hey, I looked everywhere!” Wally said quickly, putting his hands up in defense. “They didn’t have any! Trust me, man, I tried.”
Cisco’s shoulders slumped. “Nothing?”
Wally nodded solemnly. “Nothing.”
Barry patted Cisco on the back reassuringly. “The city just hasn’t had enough time to recognize your awesomeness yet,” he consoled.
“Yeah! I bet you’ll have tons of costumes by next year,” Caitlin added, smiling softly.
Iris nodded confidently. “And then there’ll be tons of little kids walking around the city as tiny Vibes.”
The conversation moved on and half an hour later, Cecile, Joe, and Harry arrived, bringing the candles they needed to put the Jack-O-Lanterns. Harry wasn’t wearing a costume and was immediately chided by Cisco, which quickly got them bickering until Iris threw candy bars at them.
The night went by. Pumpkins were carved, tricks were played, candy was handed out, movies were watched. Between Cisco’s mountain of candy and having all the people he cared about having fun in the same place, with no worry about a metahuman, Barry couldn’t have asked for a better Halloween.

Halloween is a night to be someone else. So why does Caitlin still feel like herself?
For the #DCTVHalloween Challenge
Pairing: Rogue Canary (Brotp) Slight Captain Canary
Setting: Season 1
Characters: Sara, Leonard, Mick
.
.
.
“I love Halloween!”
Sara shook her head and fought the smile on her face as Mick eagerly maneuvered his way to the bar. All around her were people dressed up for October thirty-first. It was the one time of year you could be someone else and forget all your troubles you had to face November first. Sara had loved Halloween growing up. Now, with everything that had happened to her since the Gambit, she was indifferent to the holiday. Rip had them in Boston in 1984 following another lead on Savage that had been nothing but a dud. He’d called for them to all go back to the Waverider. However the rogues and the canary had other ideas. Jax had wanted to say out but Martin had put his foot down. Kendra and Ray were somewhere else. Rip was probably melting down and that thought had Sara truly smiling. She turned to her companion, who looked like he’d rather be anywhere else but there.
“What’s the matter, Crook?” she asked, turning to face him fully, moving with the beat of the music. “Not a fan of Halloween?”
Leonard shrugged.
“Not really my cup of tea.” He nodded his head to the bar and Sara looked over her shoulder to see a ladybug and Cleopatra draped over Mick, who was dressed like a fireman... Which wasn’t far from how he normally dressed. “Mick loves everything about it.”
“I bet he does.” Sara turned back to Leonard. “Even though you refused to dress up you still look like a thief!”
“And you make the most stunning Raggedy Ann,” he said, reaching out to tug at one of her red pigtails. That earned him a playful swat on his hand, which he retracted with a slight grin. He frowned as the music changed, the bass reverberating in his chest. All around him the masses converged, bodies undulating under the flashing lights. The crowd pressing had Sara stepping closer, her front briefly brushing against his before retreating. She looked up at him through her lashes, the red paint on her cheeks and nose almost glowing as she started dancing. He rolled his eyes, standing still, and she grinned.
“Still don’t want to dance with me, Leonard?”
“I don’t dance.”
“But you like to watch?” she asked, biting her bottom lip.
“Sometimes,” he said, eyes traveling over her, stilling briefly at the swatch of skin at the top of her thigh-high stripped socks and below the hem of her skirt. He had to shake away the images of what he wanted to do to her from his brain. Sara Lance had him acting like some uncontrolled teenager. His hands tingled and he felt a slight patch of sweat at the back of his neck, and he just needed to get away from her before he did something that earned him a snapped neck from Sara Lance. “I’m going to go sit at the bar.”
“Suit yourself,” said Sara, continuing to dance. It took Leonard some time to get out of the crowd, stealing wallets and other items along the way and tucking them in his jacket. He ordered a beer, found a table in the corner of the bar, and was able to finally breathe. He hated crowds. He hated loud music though often depended on it during meetings with partners to drown out their conversations. If it weren’t for the large score he had secured on his person, he’d be in a shittier mood. Though, when people started to realize their wallets were gone in the next few minutes, things would get complicated.
A commotion at the bar had him looking up in time to see Mick throw a punch. Apparently, the ladybug had a boyfriend. Leonard sighed, sipping his beer while watching Mick take out his aggression on the boyfriend and his friends. He saw a flash of red hair and smiled when seeing Sara standing next to his partner, looking far more lethal than her costume gave her credit for.
“LET’S FIGHT!” shouted Mick.
Many ran, but some stayed to try and prove themselves. They all ended up on the floor either in pain while cradling something broken, or just outright unconscious. When Leonard heard someone shout out about missing their wallet, that was his cue to leave. He slowly got up from his chair and walked toward Mick and Sara. When the final man ended up on the floor he cleared his throat and soon had two violence-hungry teammates looking at him.
“Time to go.”
“But we were just starting to enjoy ourselves,” said Sara with a slight pout.
“Yeah, Boss!”
“And that fun has us on a tight schedule. The police will be here in about three minutes. Let’s go.”
“Fine,” said Sara, stepping over a Tin Man.
Leonard led the way out of the bar. They were around the corner by the time the first officer showed up. They slithered down an alley, hugged the dark corners, and were soon in the clear.
“We need to do that again,” said Mick. “But next time, we set the place on fire!”
“Maybe next year,” said Leonard.
“Or...”
Sara pointed across the street. There was another bar. Before Leonard could even say no both she and Mick were walking across the street, both admiring a woman dressed like a Playboy Bunny entering the bar before them. Leonard debated on just leaving them on their own. But he was too concerned about Mick starting a fire and Sara stabbing people who even looked at her the wrong way. So, he took the cash out of the wallets he’d stolen, dumped the wallets in the trash, then went across the street for another score---

The Danvers sisters each have their own opinion about Halloween. Kara loved it. Even though she dressed as Supergirl every day, she still liked picking out a costume for the occasion. She viewed Halloween as a night to go out and have fun with her friends. Alex, on the other hand, hated the holiday. It was when all the stupid people went out and did stupid things. The idiots of the world had their moronic behaviors multiplied by ten. The both of them were each faced with a challenge for this Halloween though. Something they hadn’t been expecting.
Maggie actually liked Halloween. She liked dealing with the crazies. She got a kick out of it. One time, she arrested a man dressed like a baby trying to rob a bank. The dye packs had gone off in his diaper, the place he’d put the stolen cash, and it was a story they all still talked about at her job. Maggie was prepared to go out and have fun, much to Alex’s disbelief, but at least she wasn’t all about dressing up! Alex had given up on talking Maggie into staying at home and handing out candy to whoever knocked on their door while watching scary movies. Her fiancee was ready to hit the town, drink some beers, and look for trouble. Something Alex was still wrapping her head around.
And Kara? Kara had found out that Lena never really celebrated Halloween. She’d never dressed up. Her family hadn’t been big on the holiday. She never ate too much candy or gone door to door in hopes of getting a Snickers or Reeses and not an apple. Kara had sputtered in disbelief when Lena admitted she’d never bobbed for apples or done the Monster Mash. It was then that she’d invited her out. Lena had been hesitant at first, but who could say no to Kara’s puppy eyes? She certainly couldn’t.
So the Danvers sisters made plans together.
Kara had decided to dress like Gadget from the cartoon Rescue Rangers. A show she’d grown to love when she was introduced to television and it didn’t hurt that the episodes were all on Youtube. Yes, she’d willingly admit that she still watched them from time to time. She wore the purple jumpsuit and had the goggles atop her head. She had fake mouse ears and a fake tail that fell to the back of her knees and she had a large wrench she would take with her. She rolled her eyes at Alex, who was at least dressed in all black, but far from dressed up.
“Still against dressing up?”
“Maggie isn’t dressing up either,” argued Alex. “But she still wants to go out and see the insanity that is Halloween up close and personal.”
“Is she meeting us here?”
“Yep. And Lena?”
“She should be here any minute.” There was a knock on her door. “That’s her!”
Kara went to the door and opened it. Her jaw dropped slightly as she saw Lena standing in her costume, dressed like she’d just stepped out of Camelot. Her eyes wandered over her costume and she reached up to adjust her glasses.
“Lena! Y-You look... Nice!”
“Thank you, Kara. I am the Lady of the Lake. She is from one of my favorite stories.” Lena ran her hands over her waist, biting her bottom lip in slight uncertainty. “You sure this is okay?”
“Yes!” insisted Kara. “It is!”
At that moment Maggie showed up. She looked at Lena and grinned, hands going to her back pockets. “Looking good, Luthor!”
“Oh, um, thanks...”
“Let’s go!” said Maggie.
“I told my driver to stay. He can take us to where we want to go,” said Lena.
“Even better,” said Maggie. “Hey Danvers, shake a leg!”
“I’m coming,” grumbled Alex, grabbing her coat.
“You really do look nice,” said Kara as she and Lena walked side by side, following behind Maggie and Alex.
“So do you. Though I’m not familiar with your character.”
“Oh. I’m Gadget! From Rescue Rangers. It’s a cartoon I’ve always liked.”
“Oh... I have never heard of it.”
“What? Well...We’re going to have to rectify that. Maybe... Maybe we can watch it together?”
“I’d like that,” said Lena with a smile. Kara met her eyes then looked away, smiling softly, hands fidgeting over her wrench prop.
“Me, too.”
.
.
.
All in all, the night was a success. Maggie got to chase down a perp who tried stealing a woman’s purse. The perp had been dressed like a clown and his red nose had squeaked when his face met the pavement after she tackled him down. And Alex? Alex got a glimpse of why it was Maggie loved Halloween so much. Kara and Lena had a great time. Kara even arranged for a bobbing for apples competition. Sure, someone else won that one, but it was all about Lena having fun. They even danced and participated in the costume contest. Lena had won, but she had declined the cash prize and instead offered to donate it to a local charity instead---and even matched the $500 prize money with her own. Kara had a great Halloween because for once Supergirl hadn’t been needed. She spent the entire night with her friends and not once thought about the problems she’d been having that year.
When the night was over, they went back into Lena’s car to drive back to Kara’s. It was two in the morning and Alex insisted on at least watching ‘A Nightmare Before Christmas’ before going to bed. When Alex and Maggie left the car to rush up to the apartment to make popcorn, Kara hesitated on exiting the car.
“Would you like to watch the movie?”
“I really should get back to my place. I have a meeting tomorrow morning.”
“Oh. You sure? You could spend the night. I have an extra pair of pajamas with your name on it!”
“Perhaps next year,” said Lena with a smile.
“Okay,” said Kara, hiding her disappointment the best way she could. “Sure! Next year! Oh! We could have a whole night of just staying in! Order some pizza, watch the classics. Like Gremlins! Or Ghostbusters!”
“Sounds like a plan,” said Lena with a slight laugh. “Goodnight Kara. Thank you for a fun, and interesting, evening.”
“Goodnight, Lena,” said Kara, getting out of the car and closing the door behind her before making the trek up to her apartment alone.
