Soulmate Friday: I've been on an MCU Spider-man kick for the past few days, perhaps a crossover with Batman or Danny Phantom for some superhero identity shenanigans to go with the soulmates part?
“Hey Danny?” Peter asked, opening the door to their bedroom he shared with his boyfriend. Danny was laying on the bed, shirtless with all his scars on display, arched over his right side like lightning.
“Yeah?” Danny asked, a bit high pitched but Peter didn’t notice. His brain was focusing mostly on the fact he seemed to have misplaced his webshooters.
“Did you see my black case anywhere?” Peter asked.
“Oh, ah… no,” Danny frowned, sitting up. “The last I saw it you’d taken it to work.”
“Shit,” Peter muttered. Did he leave it there? He hoped not.
Finding out that the only way for Peter Parker to stop existing was to live in a new universe had been the most difficult thing possible. Landing in Jersey? Yeah Peter did not have a good time. The only plus was that Strange managed to cast a spell giving Peter an identity, including a high school diploma.
And of course meeting his soulmate.
Peter had gotten into Gotham University, resigning himself to his life there when he’d met his soulmate. Danny, who had the same soulmate making on his right arm, a green spider that looked like it was dripping the same colour.
The two were happy together, living in a small one bedroom apartment Danny could afford thanks to an inheritance. Peter even got lucky landing a paid internship at Wayne Enterprises, this world’s version of Stark Industries.
The only thing was Peter hadn’t confessed to Danny that he had powers. Or that he ran around as Spider-Man, taking care of daylight crime the Signal couldn’t catch. Gotham had a host of superheroes handling the night, but they only had Signal and Peter during the day.
Peter moved to kiss Danny good bye, needing to head back to work to pick up his bag. Wouldn’t do to leave it there. His boss Tim was nosy as hell.
“You’re really cold babe,” Peter said, pulling away. “Put on a shirt, okay?”
“I will,” Danny promised as Peter left.
Once the man was gone, Danny breathed out a sigh of relief, changing back into his ghost form.
The paperwork of the dead wouldn’t handle itself.
