Spider!reader, who suddenly forms an allergy to mint, citrus, lavender, maybe even tea tree oil as well. They suddenly have a habit of avoiding anything that smells like cedar wood, which is hard since most of the bats like scents including it.
Spider!reader, who uses the flimsy excuse “allergies are able to develop overtime” after having an allergic reaction to lemonade.
Spider!reader, who is as smart, if not smarter than Tim, but prefers to pretend they’re not because it would cause unwanted attention, and they’ve already settled with the fact that they’re lonely.
Spider!reader, who has a literal harem but doesn’t realize it until Bruce asks if Felicia Hardy is their lover as a form of “bonding” (which is really awkward small talk).
Tim, who narrows his eyes at Spider!reader’s personal book because, hey, isn’t that the formula of the new vigilante’s webs he and Bruce have been trying to figure out? When have you been so smart?
Tim, who’s the first person to actually get close to Spider!reader because they both love to dabble in tech, science, and other nerdy things.
Shenanigans ensue as a domino effect has started! The batfam sees how close Tim and reader are and come to a realization that they don’t spend time with their “civilian” sibling, and how “lonely” they must be. (Reader has an internship at Stark industries and about 20 million friend groups.)
summary on a professional level, superman respects steve rogers in a way any other hero would. on a personal level, clark would highly appreciate steve keeping away from you, his fiance.
content warnings fluff. jealous!clark x meta-human!reader. steve is sweet but he loves causing drama, a habit he adopted from nat. avengers all call reader 'kid'.
notes this is sososo impulsive, i don't know where i'm taking this but i hope you enjoy this 4th of july special!
—
"sweetheart, i got it."
"i know you do, honey, but the people of new york are observant. they'll either think you're another super soldier or—"
clark sets down the insane amount of luggage in his arms at your knowing gaze, arms crossed as the cab driver that had just dropped the both of you off at the cozy cabin near upstate new york gawks at your fiance.
the cab driver hedges forward. "is he...?"
you shake your head with a firm press of your lips. "nope. my fiance's just from kansas. farm boy muscles and all that." while it looks like the cabbie doesn't really believe you, you've got that edge that all new yorkers never really shed so the man nods and drives off.
with no witnesses, clark lifts all of your luggage to bring inside without breaking a sweat. you sigh as you contemplate the chaos that'll most likely ensue at the avengers compound for the fourth of july weekend.
—
a month ago, natasha romanoff had arrived in your tiny box of an apartment in metropolis without even a text of warning. it would've been something you appreciated since clark had you on your kitchen counter, gently pressing you with a hungry kiss against the overhead cabinets as dinner burned on the stove. his broad frame was settled nicely between your thighs, his lips gliding down your jaw and neck before the apartment door swings open as if the intruder had a key—
"whoops. didn't know you had company."
you gasped and peeked over clark's shoulder who instinctively tried to shield you from natasha in all her sardonic glory. "nat—?!" you had wriggled away despite clark's insistence, ducking beneath his strong arm to meet your friend in your living room. "what are you doing here? is everything okay—"
"everything's fine," nat had cut in, her sharp gaze taking in clark behind you who looks more like guard dog than protective fiance at the moment. "i just wanted to drop in. i should've called though, that was on me…"
warmth bleeds into your back when clark had stepped forward, a silent wall of support behind you. he's not unaware of your past, of your healing powers that pulled you into nick fury's orbit. while you were never made into an avenger, you were the support they all needed whether it was to be healed or just to be around someone normal. it was about a couple years ago that you finally left new york, starting fresh in metropolis as a nurse. steve had been kind enough to help the move in process a lot more smooth than it would've been alone.
"um— sorry. nat, this is clark kent, my fiance. clark, this is nat, one of my closest friends from new york although i'm rescinding that title after her break in tonight," you sigh as you wave a hand between both.
clark's still a gentleman through and through, even in the face of superspies that like to cross boundaries, and shakes nat's hand before his hand returns to your waist. "what's the occasion?"
"tony's throwing a fourth of july-slash-steve's-birthday weekend barbecue, thought our favorite nurse would like to come," nat smiles. "you can bring superman over here."
clark chokes on his spit. "i— what? i'm not— no, he's—"
you pat his chest. "honey, nat knows everything, it's literally her job. don't worry, your secret's safe with her. and i don't know, clark and i were gonna just stay in."
"sounds like fun," he cuts in and that little smile, dimple and all, knows you're about to lose this one. "i haven't gotten the chance to meet your friends, sweetheart."
every argument you have dies in the face of your fiance's eager expression and you sigh quietly to meet natasha's triumphant little grin. "yeah, okay. we'll be there. is it at the compound?"
"yeah, there's your usual room—"
"no, clark and i wouldn't wanna intrude. we'll find an airbnb or something." there's an edge to your tone that leaves no room for negotiation and natasha has enough sense to back off, nodding as she starts to head out.
when the door shuts, you groan into clark's chest who rumbles in sweet amusement as he rubs your back. "superman meeting the avengers… what can go wrong."
—
a lot of things went wrong upon entering the cabin. for one, there aren't any furniture. two, there isn't any running water. frustration begins to build but before it can erupt out of you, clark's cupping your cheek to kiss your forehead and your phone starts to ring.
"stark."
"hey, kid. don't be stubborn and bring supes on over to the compound, your room's all ready for you."
"i hate you, tony."
"no, you don't. although this confirmed my theory."
you pause. "what theory?"
"you got a thing for goody two shoes. tell me— does kent say 'language' during your rated-r rants?"
you hang up the call, cutting off tony's obnoxious laughter on the other end.
—
now that the both of you are on avengers' property, your privacy is all but secured against the general public so clark had seen no issue in just flying you and your luggage over. it's a bit unsettling to see him fly in his civilian clothes but you cling to him all the same, carried bridal style while the luggage hang from his hands. you aren't sure how he isn't losing his grip but you land in the open bay where natasha and steve is waiting to greet the both of you.
the luggage are set down first, clark still hovering and once his hands are free, his feet land with you still securely in his arms. "clark?" you prompt and your adorable, beefcake of a fiance startles as he reluctantly sets you down while nat and steve approach.
"miss romanoff," clark tips his head in polite greeting but then his voice drops slightly, taking on the 'superman' voice when he turns to steve. "captain, happy birthday."
"thank you, superman," steve greets as he offers his hand. clark takes it with a solid 'clap' and a firm shake. your eyes flitter between each of them in slight anticipation because in this moment, it isn't superman and captain america facing off.
it's clark kent and steve rogers with you caught right in the middle.
something lights up in natasha's eyes and you suddenly fear for the weekend ahead.
—
fortunately, the main living space of the compound is cleared of any superheroes in favor of setting up for the outside where the main party's happening. it leaves you and clark the space to settle in and when you step in your old room, nostalgia feels like a punch to the gut.
it's still the open space layout as before, patterned after a luxury studio apartment with your own mini kitchenette. cold and impersonal for the first few minutes of stepping in but then clark walks past you to set your luggage in, his large frame somehow bringing light to the place you could barely call home. when he turns to you, gives you that smile that you've fallen so hard for, it feels like you're back in metropolis. "what?"
you shake your head with a smile, step into clark's space and giggle at the blush that he never can tamp down when you're near, and kiss his dimple. "nothing. i just love you."
"love you too, honey."
—
after changing into something more comfortable (and doesn't smell like plane) over your bathing suits, you and clark walk hand in hand towards the noise that crests and wanes from the other side of the compound. where there had been an open field meant for training (specifically for any flight simulations or volatile powers that should not be indoors), it's been fashioned into an americana-esque backyard with an actual inlaid pool.
"what the— when did you guys install a pool?" you gape at the giant, bean-shaped pool complete with a patio and a giant cabana built above it. beside it is a familiar face manning the grill.
tony flicks his sunglasses down to peer at you above them. "a week ago. had to go all out for dear ol' cap's birthday. nice of you to join us, sweet cheeks. you gonna introduce us to your hunk of a man?"
your eyes roll but the pride in your smile is undeniable as you bring clark forward. "everyone, this is clark kent. my fiance."
an impressed whistle escapes from rhodey who tips a beer up in salute towards you. "nice rock, kid." he gives a nod to clark next. "you did good."
"gosh, thanks." clark says, rubs his neck in that sheepish way that you've found endearing every time you see it. however, it has the rest of the avengers staring in utter befuddlement. tony mouths 'gosh' in emphasis to bruce who waves his judgement away.
"cap, you got someone out for your title for boyscout," tony crows happily as he flips a patty with ease. steve, who has been lounging beneath the shade with his own lemonade, looks up from his conversation with clint and laura. when his eyes find yours then clark's, something unnameable passes through his eyes before he's striding to his feet. all six foot two of him.
clark straightens his posture. all six foot four of him.
immediately, your eyes roll. "i'm going to go say hi to the girls. you two? behave."
"honey—" clark splutters but his priority will always be you so he concedes, quietly takes the offered glass of lemonade from steve before he attempts to play nice. if he can keep civil with steve lombard at work, he can be the nicest guy in town for the super soldier that may as well be an ex with how his eyes follow you.
—
to his credit, clark gets along well with all of your friends from new york. tony's crass but he's got a heart of gold with his closest circle of friends. bruce and clint had teased him the least about his midwestern countenance while laura had been interested in his career as a journalist and as a superhero. natasha had been very impressed with his ability to juggle his secret identity on top of everything.
"so how'd she find out about your other identity?" rhodey asks later on as the two of them sit at the chaises by the pool. clark is polite but his eyes cut to you occasionally where you're splashing in the shallow end with laura and clint's kids, your laughter providing a soothing background to the chaos of tony and bruce arguing over what music to play.
"ah, well. i was fighting an imp with the justice gang, should've been an easy fight but it was evening and i'm not really at my strongest at that time. i fell on her roof and she was there reading. she… healed me." a besotted smile grows on his lips. "the day after that, she ran into me as clark but i didn't realize my biology had been something she could sense. she pulled me into an alley and just asked if i healed right."
rhodey laughs quietly. "she's a little spitfire, ain't she?"
"i wouldn't have it any other way," clark muses. the both of them turn their attention to you, nearly missing the way tony hits the top of the grill with his tongs to call out—
"soup's on!" he hollers as he gestures to the cheeseburgers laid out to the table beside him. clark gets to his feet, ready to serve you, except—
"got all your favorite fixin's," steve cuts in, that boyish half grin that's made nearly all of america swoon, as he offers you a plate. with clark's heightened vision, something ugly turns with indignance that steve did get all your favorites.
but clark will not be beat so he rushes over to the coolers, pulls out your favorite drink, and all but flies over to offer it to you. "can't forget your usual, honey," he smiles sweetly, popping the tab for you and everything. you're still halfway out the pool, one foot out and on the edge with the other still in the water, with both men offering you a plate and a drink.
"thanks, guys… mind if i dry off first?"
you carefully sidestep away from both of them, refusing to enable or participate this odd dick-measuring contest they've started. once you've dried off, you settle into an available chaise and nearly startles when steve and clark kneel on either side of you. you could barely get a word in as captain america himself carefully sets the plate down on the small table beside you and your darling fiance adds in a straw as well.
"okay, both of you shoo—" you wave them off. "seriously. i know both of you, you two can eat tony out of all of his homes so go. you must be starving."
when both men trudge off, natasha takes their place but she's got enough sense to at least wait for you to take a few bites of your food before she starts.
"you know, it's kinda cute."
"don't you start, nat."
"no, no. it is! you got america's heroes fighting for your attention like overgrown puppies. it's cute."
your eyes narrow. "… you know something."
she zips up her lips before she dives into the pool, effortless without making a splash.
you huff goodnaturedly. "show-off."
—
"come on, you two. nathan, lila, out of the pool." clint claps his hands to grab his two youngests' attention. the sun's setting behind him and even you can't deny there's a slight chill beginning to settle in.
you nod and raise your arms slightly with the intent to herd the little ones out. "you two heard your dad, let's head out. if the grown-ups say yes, we can get some s'mores started, maybe set up some lights like a campfire… what do you say?"
that gets them out and when clint gives you a thankful grin, you wave him off before padding out to clark where he's already got your towel out. "thanks, baby," you smile as he wraps it around you, bundling you into his arms to press a soft kiss to your lips.
behind your back, steve stands with a fresh towel and clark fights the urge to stick his tongue out at him. no, that'd be very immature of him.
—
despite the chill that's threatened to drive the party indoors, tony gets a bonfire started in a fire pit he had dug out from the giant warehouse storage along with some string lights from a box labeled 'christmas?'.
the kids are drawn up in a tizzy at the thought of having christmas in july, their little hands diving into the box with the sole intent of decorating the giant cabana. you're in the middle of it all, helping them all detangle the wires while tony's sent back inside to look for an extension cord of all things.
"hold on, sweetheart," you laugh as nathan tries to climb your back while you draw yourself back to your feet, watching as his little arms try to reach up and hook the lights up. in the corner of your eye, steve approaches your periphery, hands nearly raised as if he's got the intention to lift you by your hips but—
clark's hands find you first, his chest brushing against your back. "i got you, honey," he murmurs in your ear before giving nathan a little grin. you feel his strong grip brace your waist, firm but not uncomfortable, and lift you high.
then… lifts you higher.
you turn your head to see clark levitating to help you hook the lights up at eye-level. nathan gasps in excitement and nearly drops the lights in his own hand. "oops— careful, buddy," you chuckle as you hand back the wire.
"me next, me next!" lila squeals from below and you laugh as clark does as asked, nathan reluctantly set down for you to carry his older sister next while clark lifts you back up with ease.
by the time the entire cabana's decorated, the kids are returned safely to their parents.
"that was nice of you," steve hums to clark once the two of you are back on solid ground, offering two s'mores on a plate.
clark takes it, almost wary, but he sees something you don't and his spine relaxes imperceptibly. "thank you," he murmurs while he places a warm hand at the base of your spine. steve nods his head and when he turns to you, he ruffles your head.
"be good, kid," he tells you instead before he walks off.
—
although tony had intended steve's intention to be an absolute rager, it still turned out to be a family-friendly event. something that steve had been banking on.
"kid just landed," tony had remarked earlier, the both of them setting up the cabana after FRIDAY had updated him on your flight status. "you gonna say something?"
steve just chuckles to himself, readjusting the stability of the cabana's legs. "tony, i don't know how many times i have to say this. nothing ever happened between me and her."
tony's eyes roll. "i know. you two cost me $300 because of it, by the way."
"serves you right for betting on your friends' love lives, stark."
"yeah, yeah, whatever. but back to the question at hand— have you met her fiance?"
"superman? i don't know him personally, but he seems like a good man, someone good for her," steve shrugs, unsure of what tony's getting at.
"hm. sure, the media definitely paints him that way," tony says. "but as her closest friends and honestly— the closest thing she has to a family— we need to make sure he's good for her."
steve pauses for a moment, gives his friend a sidelong glance. "what do you have in mind?"
"easy." both men startle at the sudden appearance of one natasha romanoff. "make him jealous. see how he reacts when steve moves in on her, it'd be enough to see his true colors."
tony snaps his fingers. "operation: battle of the boyscouts is a go."
"… i resent that name."
—
on the morning of july fifth, the avengers compound is the ultimate postcard of serenity. sun's sitting high, a gentle breeze wafting through to carry in the scent of nature. a butterfly settles upon a blooming flower bud—
"ANTHONY EDWARD STARK."
your shrill voice cuts through the peace. the butterfly flies off.
"you tried making my fiance jealous for some inane dick-measuring contest for your own fucking entertainment—?!"
"language."
"language, sweetheart."
steve and clark share a surprised glance and right as they're about to exchange a little chuckle, maybe even bro it out with a fist bump in their matching flannel pajamas, you direct your glare to the both of them.
without a word, steve backs out with a sheepish grin while clark approaches to give you an apologetic kiss to your forehead.
"it's a habit, i'm sorry," he mutters against your hair and despite tony's stupid games, you melt in your fiance's arms. "i love you."
"i love you too, sweetie." tony takes the chance to inch away as you decompress in clark's arms but you huff against his chest. "clark, i'm gonna kill him."
"... it wouldn't be very 'superman' of me to let you get away with murder, honey."
thank you for reading! likes and reblogs and comments are highly appreciated!
series summary: doctor strange is fed up with peter's pestering, so he sends him off to new jersey. one small problem: he sends him to another universe.
wordcount: 1k
warnings: swearing, super oblivious reader. y/n is used, third-person pov, reader is a huge nerd (matches peter's freak basically)
pairings: peter parker x batsis! reader, batfamily x neglected reader
other: i mainly made this based off mcu peter, but also off of the comics just slightly, since i didn't want to do the whole "you're a doppelgänger for this actor aren't you" thing if that makes sense.. right?
series masterlist. part one.
“What do you mean? There are other universes? Oh my god Bruce was right. That's how you knew my name." Peter paced back and forth, his hand running through his hair.
"What did you mean when you said comics, Peter? Are there comics from this universe? Why do they mention my last name?" She bombarded him with questions, slowly getting closer to his face. "Yeah.. there are comics about him... are you- are you related to him- Bruce Wayne, I mean."She nodded, not caring for the possibility that he was in fact a crazy stalker.
Peter tugged at the neckline of his spandex suit, sweating more if that was even possible. "Are you okay? This is a lot.." Peter nodded rapidly, not as bothered that he was stuck in another universe with no known way to get home- only that he was in a girl's room.
"Yeah.. I just- this suit is actually really itchy, now that I think about it." "Let me get you a change of clothes, I'll be right back." She walked out, leaving Peter to look at all of her trinkets.
Y/N stepped out of her room, closing the door as quietly as possible and walking down the hallway. He would be too small for Jason's clothes, way too big for Damian's, so she stopped in front of Tim's room. She opened the door softly, peeking in to look for Tim, who to nobody's suprise, wasn't in sight. He was probably in the batcave, obsessing over a case. She opened his closet, finding the clothes she's seen him wear least, praying he won't miss them. She closed the door behind her, sighing in relief. "What are you doing?"
Y/N practically jumped out of her skin, turning to face Damian Wayne, who had his arms folded across his torso. She hid the clothes behind her back, shaking her head. "Nothing! I was looking for Tim, couldn't find him.. so I'm going back to my room.. okay bye!" She hurried back down the hallway, Damian looking after her suspiciously.
She closed the door to her room and let out a huge sigh of relief. "Here.. my bathroom's right through there.."As Peter changed. Y/N looked around her room, hiding anything that she could feel embarrassed by, straightening her shelves and homework. "Oh my god. Spider-Man is in my room. No big deal!" She paced around her room until he returned, his suit folded in his arms. "Here, you can hide it in my closet."
She opened the door to her walk-in closet, as Peter gawked at all of the fabrics that lined the walls, the pairs of shoes laid neatly on shelves, various different types of clothing organized in a way he could tell she didn't have any part in sorting."This is.. as big as my apartment!" She nodded and itched the side of her face, awkwardly shuffing her feet. "Just.. put it in here, so my butler doesn't find it." She opens a shoebox that held a few photos scattered at the bottom. Peter picked one up, and his eyes widened.
"Holy shit.. your family is so intimidating." Y/N looked down at he was kneeling, taking the family photo from his hands. Bruce, stoic as ever, sitting in a tall chair while all of his children stand surrounding him. Damian and Dick to his left, Tim in the middle, Jason and Y/N to his right. The photo was taken without Duke, Cass and Steph, who were all on a mission- Bruce led her on to believe they all had buisness meetings, although she would soon learn that it was a lie. "Yeah.. what, is he a super famous ceo in your universe too? Never seen Enterprises in the comics." Her stand up special laugh track would have to be edited in, as he just stared at her. "No.. like Batman."
She knelt down to pick up the photo, shoving it back in the box before placing Peter's suit in the box, the lid placed back on and shoved under a bunch of gala dresses. She ushers Peter out of her closet, slamming the door a bit too loud. Turning to him, her face wore a shocked expression, more than if that was possible. "What do you mean, Batman?" Peter stared at her like she had another head, looking at her expression. "Wait- did you not know your own father was a crime-fighting vigilante? That your whole family was filled with them?"
Y/N sat on the edge of her bed, running her hands through her hair. It all makes sense. The late nights, the unexplainable bruises, the constant feeling of being left out when they told some ominous joke about countless villians she had seen arrested on tv. How could she have missed it?
"I feel like I said something wrong." Peter sat right next to her, scooting away few inches away after realizing their legs were touching. "I should've known.. how could I have missed it?" She stared holes into the floor, stunned into silence. A soft knock on the door disrupted her realization, as they both shot up and stared for a long moment at each other. "Miss Wayne?" Called Alfred from outside the door. "It's time for dinner." The two didn't even realize the time, and now both pairs of eyes flickered to the clock on her nightstand. 6:30pm.
"I'll be back." She whispered. "Stay here and lay low, don't make any loud noises or they'll all hear you." Peter nodded, and Y/N quickly went to change out of her school uniform. "Miss Wayne, are you in there?" Alfred started to turn the knob, but Peter quickly slid to the door and pushed against it, locking it smoothly. "Miss Wayne, is everything alright?"
"Everything's fine, Alfred! I'll be down in a moment!" Y/N walked back out of the bathroom, placing her clothes in her hamper and replacing her old headband with a new one. She ushered Peter away from the door and out of sight, taking a deep breath before unlocking and exiting into the hallway, shutting the door behind her and leaving Peter alone with his thoughts.
a/n. i did not expect anyone to want a part two but i'm so glad people did! this is fun to write&i live for drama. this might be slop but at least it's my own. i've had online school all week and i'm slowly losing my mind, so much infact that i forgot i wrote the first hald of this and practically rewrote it in the second half..
Summary: The reader is the biological daughter of Bruce Wayne and gets neglected by the family, then she gets replaced and imitated. Things make a turn, though. She has superpowers and goes by the superhero name Atomic. This is a series and still a WIP.
Warnings:Obscene Language, uhhh Bruce Wayne, Shitty Writing, Short Ass chapter
Author's Note: Guys I'm so sorry for this disgrace of a chapter like I just didn't wanna add too much info in one chapter and it just ended up being this clusterfuck I'm so sorry
The screech of metal pierced through the air.
Batman's eyes narrowed in concentration. There was swift movement and a stinging blue coldness lingering in the space and he felt the scent of smoke invade his nostrils. He didn't know why, but an impending sense of doom clouded his mind, as if he had been hit by another one of Scarecrow's fear toxins. But fear toxins create hallucinations... whatever he was feeling arrived naturally. Like heavy rain on a winter day. Although, he knew better — this wasn't normal. There was a cause and it brought him to the daunting realisation.
Batman was being beaten at his own game.
His brain could barely register the strike when it happened. Something-- No someone! Had hit him and he couldn't see it.
"Grrk!" He choked out as he was lifted up by the neck.
"So you're the Bat? Pathetic. Puny." A voice asked. It echoed— boomed. It was as if there were multiple voices at once battling for dominance and fighting to be the loudest. It's low cadence unsettled Bruce but he didn't answer.
"Not in the mood to talk?” The voice let out a mocking coo. While he could only dangle mid air.
“We can talk like this instead…” Batman suddenly felt an intense stabbing pain invade his temples, it was as if even the sheer movement of his eyes made the pain grow. With each word the voice uttered, A throb in his head pulsed alongside it. Yet he remained silent.
“No? Oh, woe is me.” He then saw it. The warp of darkness cooling the air. Batman suddenly felt weightless and vulnerable. He couldn't take the time to dwell on it because before he knew it a sheet of metal collided with him and pinned him to the wall. The impact making him reel as he felt his back crack against the wall. His vision blurred but he kept fighting.
He noticed two glowing dots in front of him, the edges blurring and softening like the colors of a painting bleeding together. Black dots speckled his vision individually. He knew he was fading— fast.
Yet he could do nothing against the entity, that was nowhere to be seen.
“You can call me Zor and if you know any better. You and your little meddling minis will stay away.”
—
You felt weird.
Like you were not there.
Like you had just experienced a real life time skip but had no idea what had happened.
It was frightening.
What was even more frightening was that it had happened too many times recently.
“It's probably just puberty or whatever.” You muttered as you jumped off the skyscraper before channeling energy into your legs to propel upwards.
You knew yourself better than anyone.
You knew that this was probably just some insane blip in your life.
Hell, you nearly died a while back. Then had to deal with your family wanting a redemption arc and to top it all off you've been having dreams you can't explain.
Life's been awful lately.
Your focus gets cut off when you catch sight of something… swinging?
Is that suspicious? Not necessarily…It's probably just a weirdo with too much money.
But something is drawing you to this… Person? Creature?
You fly over to the red and blue person.
“Hey! What are you doing?” You yell out. The person stops and you feel the worst sensation behind your eyes. You shake to rid yourself of it but it gets even more intense.
The person seems to be having a similar reaction.
Are they a telepath or something??
The ringing and pain stops before you two finally look at each other and state in unison.
“You're like me.”
—
You woke up that morning to Jason's hushed voice speaking to Tim.
“This is a stupid theory. Don't you think the press would have figured it out if Atomic and Y/N were dating?” He questioned.
Pause.
You got up, careful to levitate instead of walking in case they heard your footsteps.
“Atomic is a private hero. There's only one recorded interview of her and she can turn invisible too. It would be easy for her to hide a partner!” Tim defended.
No way this idiot thinks that you are in a relationship with—you!
“Plus… it's better than your theory. Y/N being Atomic? Seriously? I bet you she can't even name one villain or vigilante in New York. No offense to her but at the end of the day she's a civilian who will never know or understand us-”
Your blood ran cold at that. What does Tim mean? Does Jason know you're Atomic?
“But she can understand a psionic powerhouse who can telepathically manipulate ¾ of New York through sheer willpower alone without a sweat?” Jason retorted with a snort.
“I'm not discussing this with you, Jason. Y/N is not Atomic.”
You got on your bed and rustled your sheets.
The two of them went silent.
You opened your door with a blank look. Tim smiled at you while Jason's eyes narrowed at you as his lips tightened. One glance at his thoughts told you everything you needed to know.
He was on to you.
“Hey! You're awake! I just wanted to ask if you're free today. My friends are dying to meet you.”
“Then I guess they will perish.” You muttered as you began to walk away.
“No, you can't escape this. Bruce is holding a dinner party this afternoon, and he wants us to be there. My friends included.”
You let out a deep sigh and closed your eyes. You really wanted to punch Tim at that moment. Jason had already managed to exit… Jesus how does a big guy like that leave quietly.
“Cass will help you find something to wear.”
“I don't need help getting dressed. If I did, I'd hire a stylist.”
“Alrighty.”
You rolled your eyes.
What an ass.
—
The afternoon arrived way quicker than you'd have liked.
Tim's friends were all huddled together trying to pretend like they weren't staring at you.
You missed Johnny. You wondered how he was doing.
A hand touched your shoulder forcing you to turn around.
You were met with a tall blonde in a Wonder Woman crop top smiling back at you.
“Hi! My name's Cassandra, Cassandra Sandsmark—but you can call me Cassie.” You raised your eyebrow. She didn't seem too awful. You read her mind a little bit, and she came across as genuine.
The tension in your shoulders lifted and you smiled back at her.
“Hey, I'm Y/N.”
“I know! You're all over the mags! Love Love Loveee your sense of style by the way”
“Oh thanks and great! I love yours too! Wonder Woman fan?
“You know it! Who doesn't love her?”
“I love her too. She's one of my all time favourites, besides the Fantastic Four ofcourse hahaha.”
“I understand that-” A cough interrupted your conversation.
“You must be the new cool Wayne!” A male voice interjected. You turned your head to see a guy in a leather jacket smirking at you.
Oh boy…
“You're insanely beautiful fyi if anyone's ever told you that.”
“Thanks.”
“Are you seeing anyone?”
“Yes.” You lied. Why? You didn't know. He would 100% report back to Tim whether it be direct or indirect but you needed to lie. Needed to let this guy know you were not available by any means necessary.
“Who's the lucky perp?”
“Do you ask every girl you meet for the first time out?”
“Yes.” Cassie said.
“Oh boy.”
“I just realised I haven't introduced myself.” He straightened his posture and flashed you a smile before reaching out his hand.
“Name's Conner. You can call me Kon.” He said while Cassie stared daggers at him.
“Yay…” your eyes drifted to Damian and another boy sitting at a nearby table.
Cassie and Kon started glaring at each other.
You paused.
He was the cutest thing you've ever seen. What the hell was a saint like that doing with Damian?
He walked towards the dessert table to get a slice of cake and you made your way towards him.
“Hey bud, what's your name?” He jumped as if he didn't see you, dropping the cake before swiftly grabbing it. Ah. He has superpowers. He seemed to be a bit frustrated that he did that and he looked at you with a smile.
“My name's Jon. Jon Kent!”
Oh wow there's a mini Clark. Makes sense that he'd be friends with Damian, only a Kent would see any hope in a Wayne.
But you wouldn't lie.
He was adorable. You wondered if he'd get along with Franklin.
You didn't have any time to dwell on that, because Bruce snuck up from behind you.
“I see you've met Jon.” He gleaned as he put a hand on your shoulder. Ew. “He's Clark's son. You'll get to know more about him while you're staying with the Kents in Metropolis.”
“I never agreed to that.”
“I'm your father. Your agreement is not needed in these things.” You couldn't help but notice how there was a bit of dried up blood by his ears.
It looked recent.
“Don't worry, Miss- I mean Damian's sister! You'll be totally fine! We'll take good care of you.”
Okay you weren't gonna lie, that was kind of adorable.
“Okay, I'll take your word for it.” You giggled.
Maybe being at the Kents wasn't going to be too bad.

NOT PROOF READ WHATSOEVER
___
Your eyes flick open, it was seven in the morning, and since it was your birthday, you were hoping to sleep in.
However, with how your phone was blowing up, you doubted you would get too.
After what happened in Japan, apparently Dick had knocked "Wraith" out and brought you to the batcave for questioning. They thought you were too drugged up to do anything and left you unattended.
But your body worked even while your mind was fogged up, so while on enough sedatives to put a large herd of elephants into shock, you escaped your handcuffs and dissapeared into the night.
After barely managing to explain your situation to a very worried Alfred, you got him to erase the security footage of you stumbling around the outside of the manor.
He also explained to the rest of the family that you had hit your head in a boating accident and had lost pretty much all memory of Japan.
He also told the rest of your team that you were safe and happily asleep in the manor.
With a sigh you lifted your head up and looked around. The summer sun was already shining through the window of your small room.
After contemplating life for a few minutes, you got up and dressed.
Sadly, half your sad excuse for a wardrobe was left in your hotel room in Japan. Meaning the rest of your closet consisted of few pieces of loungewear and training clothing.
You tugged on a pair of sweats and a tight athletic shirt. You usually avoided tighter clothing, as well as anything that showed skin around your family.
Partly to avoid any bandages or scars showing, and partly to avoid showing any muscle that any normal "civilian" definitely shouldn't have.
After heading downstairs, whole body sore, you made your way to the kitchen, microwaving an old bowl of Greek takeout you had found.
You yanked up the hem of your shirt, inspecting the large wound left from the gang member in Japan.
At that moment, you heard a set of quiet footsteps enter the kitchen and yanked your shirt back down just a moment too late.
There stood Damian. Alfred the cat in hand and Ace trailing behind him.
"What was that?"
Your brain was already slowed from the remnants of whatever Dick had hit you with, so quick thinking wasn't exactly on the table.
"Uhhh what was what?"
Damian looked annoyed, "The giant cut across your stomach? You know, Wrai-"
He cut off, realising his mistake. Then the pieces clicked.
"You're Wraith, aren't you."
It wasn't a question. He knew.
You sighed, tilting your head back against the cupboards. Leaning all your weight into the counter.
"Yeah. I'm Wraith. So what? You don't know shit about me. And if you do, you'd know why Bruce doesn't know."
Damian's jaw clenched and Ace trotted up to you, laying at your feet.
"I won't tell Father under one condition. I get to meet the rest of them."
You raised a brow. "That's all it's going to take?"
He nodded, running a hand along Alfred's back.
"And I know much more than you think I do"
You smirked, "Like what?"
"Like it's your birthday."
___
The truth is Damian was never told what you were actually like. He was told that you were small, weak, oblivious and stupid.
So when the two of you were let alone at home and he saw the near six foot, muscled fighter, with a gleam in her eyes, he assumed you were a family friend. Certainly not the -Reader- they were talking about. Especially after you picked up your phone after a call came through and started yammering off what sounded like threats in a language he didn't understand.
Frankly, he was quite pleased that his one biological sibling was not a complete and total failure, but rather someone to look up to.
___
Your "family" on the other hand was under the impression the you were a loser with no friends and therefore needed help with... well, everything.
However, you currently had several people texting you, attempting to get you to their party.
You see, every year, your birthday was a competition between several billionaires, and other friends to get you to their houses for a party.
Last year, it was in Nanda Parbat, with your mother and grandfather. They managed to attract you with the phrase:
"We run this place. No laws. We have beer on hand."
The year before that it was Tony Stark.
Your mother was not happy about that and had attacked halfway through the party, dragging you to an exclusive restaurant your grandfather had bought on the spot so you could celebrate before your birthday ended.
___
Damian has been stuck to your side all morning. Right now you were trying to coax him out of coming with you to meet Luke and Taylor before the whole "Get -Reader- to your party" game started.
With a sigh, you gave in. Alfred had already said you could borrow his car.
Just as you were walking through the foyer, you were stopped by an angry group of vigilantes that you just so happened to be partially related to.
But something was amiss.
Bruce was...smiling?
"Good morning -Reader-! How are you feeling? Up for breakfast?"
You looked down at Damian who looked exactly as confused as you were.
"Uhhh I'm actually heading out with Damian to meet with some friends..."
Tim pitched in, "Oh! Special occasion?"
Before you could stop him, Damian interrupted, "Yes. It is -Reader-'s birthday today."
You cursed under your breath, earning a muttered "Watch your language." from Stephanie.
Dick spoke up. Despite lying about being a vigilante almost everyday, he was surprisingly terrible at lying outside of it.
"Wow! We knew that! We were just about to take you to... uhhh a lunch out!"
You were skeptical. "No, I really have to meet my friends now."
Bruce finally spoke, "Well then. We can finally meet these friends of yours."
___
Being squished into a car with Damian on your right, Tim on your left, Bruce driving and Dick in the passenger seat was not your ideal morning to say the least.
Your phone wrung, saving you the pressure of having to small talk.
It was Tony!
"Hey Dad!"
Bruce turned around, already grinning at the use of "Dad". His face dropped when he saw you on the phone
Tony: "Hey kid!! So, the car will pick you up in ten, and drop you off at the tower, I already have a few gifts planned and I still need your help on the coding on the new Friday model."
You: "Uh sorry Dad but um Bruce is driving me to some restaurant..."
Tony choked. Then laughter erupted from various people across the phone.
You had to pull the phone away from your ear because of how loud it was and winced. Everyone was staring.
Tony: "Nice try honey. We got a surprise waiting for you, jus-"
You: "I'm very sorry but I can't get out of this!"
To your absolute surprise you mother's voice answered
Thalia: "Hello sweetie, don't worry about it, we're tracking your location and will be there soon. Lots of love! Oh! And is your brother there?"
You passed the phone over to Damian who immediately switched to Arabic. He quickly finished the conversation and handed the phone back.
You know what? Fuck them.
You decided to keep the conversation in Arabic. As a member of an important government agency, you spoke more languages than you knew what to do with.
After failing to stop Tony, your mother and several other avengers from coming after you, you closed off the conversation in Russian. One of the few languages that most everyone in that room knew.
After hanging up you sighed and put on a blank face, internally struggling to keep it there after looking at everyone's shocked faces.
"What?"
___
Unfortunately, your mother was not joking in the least. You had just stepped out of the car, way underdressed for this place, when a familiar set of arms wrapped around you, lifting you into the air, before finally settling you into a bridal style carry.
You laughed, tilting your head back, then looked up at Luke, his eyes had a certain sparkle that usually meant no good.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, dropping a soft kiss on his cheek before patting his arm and saying
"Down please".
He was wearing a perfectly tailored black suit, and the very expensive watch you had gotten him for his birthday.
He pulled you into his chest, wrapping his arms around you and leaned his head down, whispering "Happy birthday -Reader-"
You almost melted and he knew it. In fact he knew exactly what he was doing, you realized the fact when you looked up and saw the smirk that Sam was convinced he learned from you on his face.
The scar across the corner of his mouth stretched.
A cough sounded from behind you and you turned around, Bruce had his arms crossed and Dick looked murderous.
Damian on the other hand looked.... Excited?
He walked up to your boyfriend, and Luke said something that made Damian snicker.
You didn't get a chance to hear it, because of the second set of arms wrapped around you.
This time they were bare, no suit. With lean muscle, smaller than Luke's but still strong.
Taylor stepped back and your face lit up.
"You're wearing the dress I got you!"
Taylor grinned, "Of course! And I brought THE dress with me."
Your heart raced. She was talking about a gorgeous maroon evening gown. It fit you like a glove and you were dying to wear it.
(Chat if you don't like it idc just imagine smth else)

Another set of arms wrapped around you. If you got one more surprise hug you were going to implode.
You tilted your head back and saw a familiar face smirking at you.
"Dad!" You turned around and hugged Tony back.
This time Bruce aggressively coughed, interrupting the moment.
Tony released you and pivoted to glare at Bruce.
He was painfully aware of your treatment back at the manor.
Thalia strutted up to the billionaire stand off and placed a hand on your shoulder.
"Hello my love."
A grin spread across your face.
"Mom! What's happening?"
To your surprise, Tony broke eye contact first to smile out you and explain: "Well we know how much stress the whole..... Competition causes you, so we decided to group together and throw a party worthy of you!"
"Huh, I didn't expect that one." You snort, then look over at Luke who was currently verbally beating the shit out of Dick. To your surprise, Damian was standing next to your boyfriend, occasionally making snide remarks.
Peter was arms crossed, attempting to make peace with an annoyed Tim. Duke, Steph and Cass were getting interrogated by Thor, who was questioning why the hell he could feel a slight light energy aura off of Duke, and the other two were defending him. And Bruce was currently arms crossed, staring Tony down.
A sudden whistle broke through the fray of arguing family.
You and Luke both brought your fingers to your mouth to whistle back, but dropped them after realising that it wasn't a distress call.
Taylor was standing on a marble bench beside the entrance of the restaurant, arms crossed.
"HEY! WAYNE LOSERS, OVER HERE!!! WE CALL DIBS ON -Reader-!!!"
An assembly of cries broke out and you massaged your brow. The attempt at making the "Who gets -Reader-" game easier had failed.
Suddenly a set of hands placed themselves on your shoulders.
You tensed before relaxing, "Luke?"
"Hey -n/n-, let's get out of here, okay?"
You sighed, "Yeah, let me just tell Tony and Thalia first."
You grabbed your non biological dad and your mom by the wrists and dragged them over to the side of the the restaurant entrance.
"Hey, um me and Luke are gonna go, alright? I love both of you, but I really don't want to be doing this."
Tony sighed, annoyed but Thalia cut in
"Of course, just tell Taylor first."
You looked over at your best friend, yelling at Dick, and Bruce who were both twice her size. Taylor was never one to hold back after all.
You walked up to the group, and switched to Basque. One of the very few languages that the two men didn't speak.
"Hey, Taylor, Luke and I are gonna go, so we will meet you in Stark tower at like, seven. I love you but I don't want to deal with these <Fuck Faces> right now."
You left the curse out in English for emphasis.
___
Luke called a private car with a wave of his hand. His family had a quiet kind of power. His last name "Avaren" held more influence than almost any name out there.
He ended up bringing you to one of your favourite spots in the world.
___
Your head rested against Luke's shoulder and he wrapped his arm around you, pulling you close.
You were seated on the top of a large Gotham skyscraper, with a cheap cheese pizza on your laps.
The sharp sound of metal cutting through wind halted in front of you.
You blinked and watched an empty iron man suit fly in.
It held up a screen of what looked to be a face time.
Tony's face was taking up nearly all the screen.
"How the fuck did you get up there?"
Steve yelled "LANGUAGE!" from somewhere behind him.
Your father rolled his eyes.
"So, you showing up or what?"
Thalia could be heard shouting orders in Arabic in the background
---BRUCE'S POV---
"Why the fuck is -Reader- on a Wayne inc skyscraper?" Jason scratched the back of his head.
"Well how would I know? That's why we called you after all." Tim replied.
There was something incredibly off.
"Did you get the tracker on her?" I asked.
"Yes, I got the tracker on her, and it looks like she's moving towards.... Stark Tower?" Dick sighed.
Stephanie stretched her arms above her head. "So let's go save a civilian from a party!"
