Lol you got over here FAST. Absolutely I can elaborate on my like, one true vision for Zutara, which is more of a vibe than any kind of coherent story idea.

This would be something set in/around/after Zuko joins the Gaang of course, Zuko taking this risk joining them, being on edge, and being very aware of Katara's power in particular (and maybe more aware of her own strength than she is, even, since he has broader context).

And I have no idea how it would come about, but Zuko would be kind of scared, kind of awed, kind of into Katara's power, and the bloodbending in particular, like starting morbidly fascinated and going from there. And there would be this thread of Katara simultaneously exploring and understanding and embracing her power/bending/sexuality all at the same time (my fave combo lol).

I think it would be more of a submission/dominance thing than the sadism/masochism side. Zuko willingly giving his body to her to bloodbend on, and all the trust that it requires, and him wanting that trust even if he isn't entirely sure of her yet and pushing himself to it anyway because that's what he does is push himself regardless of his current reality, and being all scared-exhilarated by it the whole time because someone controll your body with bloodbending is probably horrifying, but if you're giving yourself over to it instead of fighting (if you're making yourself relax and give in and submit)...

And he's an adrenaline junky so he wouldn't be able to stop coming back, because it would be this total rush mixed with like a shared secret and this tenuous-growing-stronger connection when he's just walked away from his prior life, and telling himself it's helping someone too (because Katara would be working through her bloodbending is evil baggage, and isn't helping her by offering up his body the perfect excuse).

Basically I think Zuko would be hard from go if only from the adrenaline, but Katara's bending would be inside him and in his blood and where is all that blood going, and, well. They'd dance around this like, kinky D/S stuff for a while, maybe never touching but edging more and more openly into something sexual, Zuko being the one getting stripped bare and vulnerable but it and also the one getting this sexual and larger gratification from it, but only as much as Katara will give him.

And meanwhile there's Katara recognizing and owning and mastering her power, and realizing how much of her power in the situation is her bending vs just herself, this simultaneous exploration and risk in pushing Zuko and realizing she likes it, or at least likes having that kind of power over him specifically. And add in all the baggage of Zuko being on his knees for someone and vulnerable to bending in particular, and Katara might start off angry and suspicious but it wouldn't stay that way.

And...that's what I've got haha. More vibe than fic, I regularly mourn the untapped kinky potential of bloodbending, and totally unrelatedly, can I direct you to a deep delight of the blood by eruthos over on ao3?)

So, I'm a new follower that is a bit slow on the uptake. Are Keet, Yonder, Aisling, and Onyx in the same story? Are they interconnected? Yonder 🎯 Keet ✨ Aisling 🧊 Cassius 🍀 Onyx 💼

Omg I appreciate your curiosity about my guys!!! You are not slow on the uptake, my oc tagging system is labyrinthine even to me and I'm sure it's incomprehensible as a new follower djsvbksjbg. Anyway, Yonder and Onyx have connected stories/share a universe, and Aisling and Cassius are in their own separate story, but they're otherwise not connected. They are all my D&D player characters (with the exception of Cassius, who is a side character serving Aisling's story)! I included brief descriptions of each below for a little more context, and their relevant tags are included in the tags on this post if you are curious about any of them.

Yonder (kenku/ravenfolk witch, in their 50s*, pathetic tiny little bird guy, skeevy con artist, wants to literally fight god but is 4'8"): 🎯 What do they do best?

Oh man.......probably finding things out, by which I mean both actually locating things that are hidden and getting information/making discoveries. They are an experimenter at heart and once something's piqued their interest (especially if that something could get them some power they didn't have before), they won't stop poking at it and trying to get to the bottom of it, even if it means making themself a test subject.

Keet (selkie ranger, 19-ish*, amnesiac, washed out of military training and really should let it go, cute dumb lost puppy energy): ✨ How did you come up with the OC’s name?

Hehehe I was hoping someone would ask this about Keet specifically. So she did name herself, being that she woke up alone on a beach about 18 months prior to the start of the story without any recollection of her past life. Her name is the sound an osprey makes, because, when she was living in the woods by herself for the first month or so after waking up, ospreys were some of the only living things she could talk to semi-regularly. She named herself after their sound because, in her words, "It's nice to feel like at least something is calling your name."

Aisling (half-elf rogue, 23, very fire-themed, kind of unpleasant person unless you know them well, chronic pain haver): 🧊 Is their current design the first one?

Her current design is pretty close to the original one from several years ago actually! The general body type, big face scar, hair and skin tone, black and red colors, and gold key accents were all there from the start. The blackthorn cane and white blackthorn flowers are added motifs that are more recent though. (The original art is very old please do not ask to see it vkdsbvkjdvbksb)

Cassius (orc healer, 71, extremely sweet old man with nonetheless crippling anxiety and self-esteem issues, 7'5" gentle giant, widower): 🍀 What originally inspired the OC?

Man this is kind of a hard question for me to answer about any of these guys because ultimately a lot of things probably influenced them, but Cassius is like. The comparison that comes to mind is the bishop from the beginning of Les Miserables lmao. He's that kind of fatherly archetype.

Onyx (formerly human druid turned hellbeast, mid-30s when they died, tar pit/fossil-themed, awful awful person, twisted by vengeance etc.): 💼 What do they do for a living?

Uh, well. When they were alive they were a knight/personal bodyguard for their ruler/lover. Then they were framed for her murder and weren't that anymore. Then they sold their soul to a devil who made them a devil as well. And now they torture people in Hell! They love their new job <3

So, after months of crushing, a month of openly flirting, I finally asked the person I like to be my girlfriend. I then spent all day rearranging my space, because after moving across the USA back in November, I am finally getting my dog flown out to me on Saturday. He is my baby, and I have missed him desperately, and everything is just weirdly good at the moment.

I'm oblivious to DND so I'm very curious about Kenku's conceptually, but Yonder sounds like the Most Character ever. Corvids are so much fun/it tracks. Which of the asks did you want to get for them? Keet 🌂 Onyx ❤️✂️ Aisling: why does she feel trapped?

I love kenku and am so glad to finally play one. They are literally just little guys, to me. In the official lore, they are flightless and can only speak by parroting what other people say, but I found the second bit to be a bit too limiting for a player character. Instead, Yonder can speak more or less normally, but they are an uncanny mimic of others' voices and, when they're not paying attention, sometimes slip into the voices of others, including those who are no longer alive.

Anyway, in terms of the meme, the question of whether I would ever kill them off is interesting because uh. The short answer is yeah, maybe, lmao. They are actually quite afraid of dying and the associated rot and decay. However, they are currently trying to resurrect their dead family members (their older sister in particular), and since they are a character in a horror campaign, there's a good chance that will all end with them either dying (perhaps in order to take their sister's place) or becoming something that transcends life and death, in which case it's arguable whether they would be "Yonder" anymore.

🌂 What genre do they belong in?

I think Keet is pretty well suited to the adventure genre that she's in, but I have also said before that she kind of behaves as though she were a shounen anime protagonist lmao. Very power-of-friendship (and violence) kind of girl. Perhaps paradoxically, she also wouldn't be entirely out of place in some kind of horror/dark fiction, as we know now that her memory loss is due to her having died before and, long story short, she now sees dead people and has unlocked wacky psychopomp abilities that she doesn't know what to do with yet.

❤️ What is one of your OC’s best memories?

They have a lot of remaining good memories of the princess whom they loved and protected as a knight. While she had several lovers, including among her knights, she had various little ways of indicating in front of everyone that Onyx was particularly favored, and they remember all of those.

✂️ What is one of your OC’s worst memories?

In the first game that I played with them, there was a moment when an enemy hit them with a psychic attack of sorts that made them relive their single worst moment. As I told my GM at the time, what they saw was not discovering the princess dead, not being sentenced to death in the tar pits, but falsely confessing to the dead under torture.

When they were still a teenager, Aisling was imprisoned for killing a guard during a botched heist. Without going into detail, they spent a couple of years there (prior to breaking out and fleeing the city-state) being almost constantly dehumanized and abused in ways physical and psychological. Also, before all this happened, they had some pretty impressive fire powers, but as a prisoner, they underwent a ritual that prevented them from ever being able to channel that magic properly again. The magic still exists, though, and without a way to escape, it can do (and has done) a lot of internal damage to their body that is sort of reminiscent of certain autoimmune conditions. All of this combined means that, obviously, her life has been permanently changed in ways that she had no control over, and she simply cannot do a lot of things that used to come easily for her previously. (On top of the chronic pain, she struggles a lot with social phobia and borderline agoraphobia, for example.) Basically, no longer physically confined but constantly reminded of the limitations imposed on her by her experience, etc. etc.

HELLO sorry for the late response but on the bright side(?) I can't sleep so you're getting my unhinged 2 AM responses <3 Also since you didn't specify I answered for all 4 of my OCs I mentioned in the tags of that post!

🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?

Keet: I like how she is like a dog in the fighting ring. I like that she gives her loyalty and devotion out too freely, often to people who don't deserve it, because they have shown her a modicum of kindness. I like that fighting isn't in her blood but she does it anyway because she's been told it's right. I like that she wants to be told what to do because it's easier than thinking for herself or figuring out who she actually is, and why should she trust her instincts anyway, her mind full of holes?

Yonder: It is always deeply, deeply fun to play with (and play as) a character who can't ever leave well enough alone. They are full of cowardice and they fear many things, often for very good reason, but they are also a person in whom fear breeds a morbid curiosity. They want to study and spite the things that scare them, get the drop on them...even if it means some less than safe self-experimentation.

Aisling: She is trying, so hard, to let go of the feeling of being trapped, and has been trying for years, and it is simply not working, and it makes her unfriendly, and she still panics, and she still avoids and snaps at people, and she still guards herself more than she has to, but she's trying still.

Onyx: They are honestly my only truly, irrevocably evil OC and I love that for them. Even after they accomplish their exact goal they are simply too far gone to ever not be mad with power again and I think that's really sexy. Also bones are hot.

🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?

Keet: No idea who they are or if they are even alive.

Yonder: It was warm, while their parents were still living. Yonder loves them, still. Yonder pities them, as they pity everyone who died believing that the higher powers could ever be benevolent, in life or death. Yonder is angry with them, for going where they can't follow--maybe where they can never follow, since who knows where they'll be going after they die? Not, likely, to the same place the souls of their parents went.

Aisling: With their birth parents? Weird, distant. Aisling probably wouldn't characterize their childhood as neglectful, since it's what they knew, but like, her parents more or less came into the picture as they liked and left the siblings to raise each other. She doesn't have contact with them now. However, Cassius is all but her adoptive father and is hands-down the person she is the most open and upbeat with. Both of them have been through a lot together and love and respect each other very much.

Onyx: Hasn't really come up, but "indulgent" is the word that comes to mind, in the way that upper class families can be, which is to say largely in material ways. Onyx had everything they needed to make it in the world as they grew up.
