It's confusing to me that Amy has become one of the main characters of DDLC for some fans. She's a literary device that appears in one poem by Natsuki and gets no characterization beyond it, yet people are out there putting her in "guess my favorite DDLC character" polls.

Kaori is just funny though, because that's like if a Victorian hoax was about Doki Doki Literature Club instead of the Middle Ages.

There's a rumor about a mysterious phenomenon called "self-awareness syndrome."

For example, MC is a high school student who suddenly sees a bunny girl appear in front of him at the Literature Club. The girl is actually a girl named Monika Sakurajima, who is the Literaure Club's president who was also a leader of the Debate Club last year and probably the most popular girl in class - smart, beautiful, athletic.

For some reason, the people around Monika cannot realize she is self-aware, even when she told them in the download page. MC cannot realize it, either (as if it were because of his denseness), and as he doesn't spend time with Monika, shit will hit the fan, fam... And other girls who have "self-awareness syndrome" start to appear in front of MC as well.
