i love the idea of Volt being a morning person. he wakes up early, drinks a cup of coffee, makes Eddie breakfast, and either does a hobby or goes downstairs to work on the club until Eddie wakes up. I think to think he borrows books from Lyric and Washford; being one of the younger objects he really wants to learn as much as he can, and will sit in bed beside Eddie reading and admiring his sleeping form.

Though whenever Volt has a particularly long night, whether it be from a thunderstorm or just staying out too late, he wakes up exhausted and late into the morning. Eddie is already out of bed, and this time Volt smells the breakfast cooking and coffee brewing in the kitchen.

Subnautica mercreature AU where Eddie is a reaper leviathan and Volt is a ghost leviathan

the colors, sizes, and demeanors are all so them

Eddie, being a reaper that stays in the volcanic regions of the world, discovers Volt, a ghost leviathan that had been ousted from its group as a juvenile/ is a loner that doesn't remember where it came from. Ofc they fight at first; they are both large, highly aggressive creatures that attack on sight, and Eddie feels his territory is being threatened. Volt overpowers Eddie, naturally being stronger and bigger, but when Volt doesn't kill Eddie, he's shocked, reluctantly appreciative, and lets Volt stay in his territory.

LW being the lone survivor from the Alterra crash and discovering these giant mercreature men when they're just trying to cure themselves of this alien disease. Eddie and Volt would stalk LW at first, intrigued by this small foreign creature and the machines they had with them, but when they would get too close to their nest, they attack them and their vehicles.

Eventually, LW builds a base in this region, not needing to go to the surface much anymore, and is cornered by the two mercreatures that had been after them for months. Instead of killing them, Eddie and Volt tease and interrogate them. LW shakily and desperately explains all the events of the game up until that point, and Eddie and Volt are hesitant to trust them, but have no reason not to. All three of them know LW could be killed and forgotten easily, like the rest of their crew.

LW is still determined to get off the planet, investigating the secrets and the ones who came before, but Eddie and Volt deter their research at every turn. It gets to a point where LW yells at them and shuts themself in their Cyclops, going back to the safe shallows, to where Eddie and Volt can't follow. They were lucky to escape; their Cyclops almost failed several times, and they attracted the attention of several other creatures during this fight, but LW made it. They have a lot to think about now that they're on the surface and by themselves again.

You can decide what your LW does! Does your LW remain on the alien planet with their mercreature partners, or do they return to their old life on Earth as an Alterra Researcher? Personally, I'm curing the world and staying on it with them because I'm not leaving two hot monster mercreature bfs, ya know?

okay we’ve heard about chronically ill / disabled eddie but what about chronically ill / disabled volt.

volt, who stumbles with large power flickers and grips at his chest tightly. you can’t tell me he doesn’t feel those same pains in his chest during small surges, he’s just able to conceal the pain. he and eddie and have connection, so while the faulty wire mostly affects eddie, the more time passes the more it also affects volt.

volt, who gets migraines from getting too worked up therefore making electrical usage in the house go up. after an episode, he can feel it coming on like tendrils creeping around his body. the glowing of his eyes makes the pain even more unbearable that he had to start sleeping with an eye mask during this and eddie has to close the club and take care of him.

volt, who gets sick and drained during power outages where his hair is an inky black, hanging heavily on his shoulders and his eyes lose all shine, turning to a dull gray color like eddie’s but more flat without pupils. volt, who can barely move from bed when thunderstorms knock out the power and takes days for him to recover afterwards especially if there are several outages over the course of a few days.

volt who will try to keep the power going, causing the flickering in your home and several large surges to happen, the power going off momentarily before coming back on and repeating a few times, before collapsing. he’s panting and tears burn down his face as darkness surrounding him and he realizes he couldn’t hold it together.

hank3 and hank5 have such a crush on Volt. Like all the hanks do, but especially 3 and 5. It’s rare that H3 is out flirted and made flustered so easily, and H5 appreciates how charming and romantic Volt is.

They both often are seen at the Breaker Box hanging out and shooting the shit with other patrons, but eyeing up Volt the entire time.
