Well there’s never a good time for this but today my computer of almost 10 years went kaput. It’ll boot into target mode but that’s all. I already have a new computer, but unfortunately there was some data that I want to get off the old one it so I will be looking into address that issue .

This means for the next week or so I may not be posting as much as I wait for things to shake out. Thank you in advance for your patience.

I'm sorry, Friends. My computer needs to be taken to the apple store for repairs. It seems Bigbee thought I was worthy of tormenting, and decided to crash my device.

I'm going to have to put this week's chapter on hold as I'm unable to finish the illustrations for it. I'm sorry!

One of the office computers stopped working, so my assistant swapped in a new one. We recently did a tech clean up, so we don’t currently have a Dead Tech storage zone. I asked him to put a note on it, so we would know why it’s sitting in the corner.

He did, indeed, put a note on it:

Update May 21, 2021: Just to be clear, since I’ve received a few unpleasant messages: He is not a follower of the Norse pantheon. He knows I am (how could he not? I have altars in my office, and he regularly assists with my rune workshop materials), and he respects that. Yes, we do talk about the MCU movies and shows. And Star Trek, Star Wars, history from ancient Egypt to modern times, literature, and cookie recipes. I am *delighted* that he did this. I appreciate his creativity and wit, and he is a valued employee, for those and many other qualities.

So yeah, my computer died recently. That’s why I haven’t been posting at all. I’m still trying to recover my most recent finished art piece from the hard drive, and the speedpaint. I’ll post those as soon as I can. I am now set upon my laptop, and I have finally gotten sai and krita all set up. I’m working on another digital painting as well as a funny comic.I’m sorry it took so long for me to get this working, and I’ll try to post as soon as I can in the future. I will be going to San Diego Comic Con this year,  so I won’t be able to post Wednesday through Sunday. I’ll try  to get the comic in before then. Anyway, thanks for being patient and looking at my art!

Bad news

Bad news is, my hard drive failed. Good news is, my files were all backed up. What does this mean for the blog? Well, it means until summer, I likely won’t be able to update. So, on hiatus. But, on the plus side, once I cave a computer to work with again, I won’t have to redraw all the backgrounds.

If your computer is dead, or external hard drive unresponsive, try shucking the hard drive and hooking it up to something like this hard drive convertor.

If the hard drive is good you'll be able to access it and retrieve the information without needing a recovery service. You can then put the hard drive in an enclosure or dock and continue to use it. I've been able to access 20+ years of old computer drives and save stuff.

When my computer literally died, and I still don’t have a replacement, I’m for now just stuck with writing from my phone.

It’s tricky business, but I’m close to finally able to get the hang of it.
