DEADEYES
fic cover
Read:
I really really love the idea that deadeyes can be revived but it's not through some magic moment or Saying The Right Words but instead it's a long slow painstaking process of connection and recovery
Stormlight reread: row 75 middle step
Love the little parallel between kal's treatment of the mentally ill and adolin's with the deadeyes
They both have an interaction that basically goes.
"well we know this is how it works"
"Have you tried anything else?"
"... No..."
Jon and Oliver sharing a blunt as if they don’t wanna kiss the shit out of eachother… like true homies do.
I love adolin and maya's relationship in Oathbringer and so far what I've read in RoW! He treats Maya as a real spren who deserves respect and as if she is the same as every other spren regardless of the fact that she is a deadeyes, a spren who is supposed to be dead and never to have their mind unbroken. And yet he is treating her so fucking well and it's literally working? She is doing things that no other deadeyes has done before and even other spren are amazed at what is happening even if they think he shouldn't be treating Maya like this. Adolin is such a fucking likeable character, when I first started reading SA I didn't like him and thought he was just another pretentious noble but he has so grown on me and he treats others so well! I hope in stormlight 5 we get to see him revive Maya and become a radiant with her bonded as his spren!
